Does anybody know why the TGR forums are such dogshit?

I haven't successfully been able to comment on a post in years. I like to peruse their buy/sell. But the site won't let me stay logged in. I've tried everything from clearing my browsing data to trying all the different browsers and even trying on my computer at work. Every time, the same thing happens. I log in, I navigate to a new page, and I'm immediately logged out again. You'd think after 20 years they'd have their shit together by now and have a functioning community website.

probably the same reasons this website has its flaws, not a lot of money being put into the development.

bro REALLY wants to browse TGR

Tbf tgrs buy and sell is miles better than NS.

It actually reminds me of how NS was 10+ year ago. Forum design + way better homie prices.

Kids just get mad when they get made fun of for trying to sell their clapped out Vishnu's.

It is infinitely better. Sometimes they do group buys for things like intuition liners.

I don't know shit about coding or website dev but I've always been impressed with the clean layout of the NS forums and I've personally never noticed a single bug.

Yeah site has always looked good IMO but there are definitely bugs, but theyre pretty small, hence why they're not fixed.

tgr uses some template forums, dont they? wouldnt be surprised if the support for those templates ended years ago.

It does look like a template now that you mention it.

yeah it was a wildly used template when forums were poppin, NS has always had a custom layout.

I was never a park skier. In the context of the kind of skier I am, I can relate to the TGR community more. But I always came back to NS because the layout was nice and the golden age of shit talking (mid-late 2000s NSG) was pretty fun as well.

There's a LOT of super helpful knowledge to be found there and the buy/sell section is great, but the whole vibe on the site is such a weird downer.

It's just real boomer I would say. The core culture of the forums is from the long dead Powder magazine forums. If you can get past that, then there is a ton of info. BST is GOAT'ed if you are reasonable with your pricing. The amoutn of succesful transactions I have had on TGR as opposed to NS is huge, even when NS was poppin.
