Let me set the scene for you:

Its a friday night, youre ready to get hyphy, and then go skiing tomorrow.

Word on the street is, there is a party a town or two over and you are invited. Ladies galore.

You get there, some lil john is bumpin, and then it hits you... "damn ive gotta get home so i can ski tomorrow, I might as well ______________"

What do you do? not indulge so you can drive? drink fast and hope you are good to go in a few hours? Drink drive and die? (please dont do this..) Or is the best option to get a designated driver (DD does not stand for drunk driver).

Do you guys and gals have a go to driver? that friend who doesnt do squat on the weekend and doesnt mind picking you up? Whats the best way to play this so you can still GO SKIING TOMORROW!

Let me set the mood for you lot...

 
Hoard all the alcohol you can and leave, use it at your own discretion for future parties?
 
If you start drinking, don't drive (I don't like the idea of waiting it out). Look for a DD. If you can't find a DD walk back. If you walk back, don't go bat shit crazy. If you wanna go bat shit crazy, call a cab when you want to go home.
 
sorry, poor grammar on my part, i shuold have gone for a comma there. I meant do those things in series "drink, drive, and die."

And to everyone else, I would agree that driving is not a good option, Im thinking i need to find that friend who is a bro at 12am...
 
Drinking then driving shouldn't even be an option in this situation.

I did a clinical rotation for school through a maximum level state prison and you wouldn't believe how many normal, educated middle aged men i saw in there who had ruined lives from drunk driving...don't do it. period.
 
What you're going to want to do is this. Walk to a pizza place. When they say for here or to go, say delivery. When they deliver the pizza to your house, sit in the backseat. Then gorge on the pizza that you just ordered.
 
IN THEORY THIS WORKS IN REALITY DRIVERS FOR BIG CHAINS LIKE DOMINOS AND PIZZA HUT ARENT ALLOWED TO BRING PEOPLE WITH THEM I TRIED IT TO GET A RIDE HOME FROM JAIL ONCE IT DIDNT WORK

driving under the influence of anything is stupid, everything impairs judgement. Im sure almost all of us have though.

this was my room mates go-to move when we were freshmen. Small pizza parlor, so they were cool with giving him a lift. It was a win-win. My slob room mate would head to a different party, get shit housed, then meet us at the dorm with pizza to share. I was like "chill"
 
I usually just don't really worry about how I'm getting back until the end of the night. It always works out one way or another, and if not, there's a sleeping bag in my car. I'm not gonna drive drunk though.
 
i always roll with a sleeping bag in my car. when i used to have a big crew cab pickup sleeping in the vehicle wasnt even a big deal at all, i did it all the time. but in my sedan i usually just politely ask to stay the night at wherever im at, then crash on the couch or floor with my sleeping bag. if im too fucked up to leave and dont have any other ways home.

ive never lived in an area where i can walk/take public transport to and from parties. my house is easy 40 minutes outside the city where bars and shit are, and still maybe 15 min from the closest town.
 
a person who was drunk was driving at 4:15 pm on my street and there where to grandparents who where hit by the drunk driver. horrible :( this happened 2 days ago.

For ya little younger folk, drinking and driving has serious consequences. Have a plan!
 
once again i would like to reiterate, I DO NOT APPROVE OF DRINKING AND DRIVING. DONT DO IT. PEOPLE DIE. I lost a close family friend to a careless accident.

On the less serious note, the pizza idea is genius. I have a feeling more well known places wont do this for you, but I bet if you offer a good size tip you would have some luck.
