Do you buy brand new skis at full price?

Just curious to see how many of you are willing to pay full price for a pair of skis that if you wait 5 months will be half the price.
 
i would only ever pay full price for smaller brands like vishnu or jet. If you pay retail for a pair of big brand skis you are delusional
 
It can pretty much always wait half the season for spring sales unless you don’t have a quiver and you broke your only skis
 
Never bought skis full price but if I ever become financially sound enough to do so I definitely would if it's a brand I like
 
I’ve only paid full price on limited skis that sold out and wouldn’t be available again. If it’s going to be onsale later down the road I’ll wait.
 
Icelantic offered me discount on skis and i got to write which i want but then they ghosted me when i wanted the nomad ?
 
Never have, never will. Wait for end of season sales or hand me downs from coaches. Ski swaps are also cool. A buddy got pristine revolt 121s with jesters for $350.

Yes limited skis. The ghost trains were a one season limited run last year. Once they sold out that was it. And they’re not in the current season lineup. The blades were a limited series drop. And when they sold out that was it.

If I had the money to buy brand new skis for full price I definitely would because I'm inpatient asf. But for rn and prolly the next 10 years I'm too broke.
 
I have bought skis for full price, but last couple years i have been blessed with discounts from working on hill, having good contacts at ski stores and finding second hand grails.
 
Money isn’t an issue for me so I buy skis just whenever I need a replacement. Don’t need to wait for a sale.
 
I pay full price for smaller brands like Vishnu, ON3P, etc., but shop form discounts have been way too hard not to pass up.
 
Just bought new boots at close to full price. The only reason I bought them new was because I needed a touring boot and I wanted the BOA tech in it for a better fit and that doesn't exist from a year ago in the boot I want. Overall would recommend never buying new, felt weird paying that much for gear but whatever I toured like 20-30 days last year and I'll be doing it more so it's time to invest in real touring stuff

Once dropped over $1k on fitting for my old Mach1 130's only because I had foot surgery a few months prior. Skied like a maniac but never again. I cant believe I got my XT3's for like $300 this winter.
 
I bought my Meridians for full price, and my Season Aeros for full price. I’m a chronic March deep discount buyer by heart, but I wanted both those skis early season. I’m not blasting through a pair of park skis in a year anymore so I justify it that way.

fyi I would never buy a big brand at full price

At the end of the day it’s more of an investment than anything since skis can easily be replaced compared to boots. Ski boots are technically rated up to 200 days of riding before everything deteriorates and it’s time to replace them. Depending on how much you’re going to use them, you’ll definitely get more than your money’s worth out of them.

Shit I take it back, kinda. I only got like a 15% discount on the Armada JJ UL and spent full price on CAST system.

They are 820 in my local shop(in Sweden)+they have a ”early bird discount” so i will pay 730$. Still pretty expensive but im a diehard armada fanboy
 
If it’s a brand I like with limited inventory I’m paying full but that’s pretty much just on3p or Vishnu at this point, my pow skis were drilled once prototypes for 250, touring skis were half off, carving skis were a gift
