Do you boycott any brands?

Not trying to name and shame here, but are you currently boycotting any companies or product for the following reasons?

-Actions of their parent company (don't want to turn this into a political circle jerk).

-Poor customer service/warranty experience in the past

-Poor product reliability

-Poor product value. Maybe you refuse to buy another product of theirs that is more of a "loss leader"

About to end a boycott myself over a poor warranty experience. I figure the new product is a leader in its category and there has probably been full turnover within the company with whoever dealt with my case

In the end, ultimately it probably makes sense to buy what gives you the best value. Ie: I don't agree with what Vista Brands donates to, but from an environmental and economic standpoint, I think less Camelbaks have made their way to the landfill due to leaking than comparable hydration bladders.

Spyder and anything in that class of brands because their shit is retarded expensive.

I used to boycott Northface but bought a coat 70% off at TJmaxx so guess I can't anymore.

head skis, also their goggles scratch really easy

them and volkl should catch on and see that no one really like highlighter color

Only Oakley for dropping THall, Orage for dropping its entire freestyle team back in the day, and I avoid companies that put more time and focus into racing because frankly with all the shit that's gone on with fis and what I see racing produces for the majority of kids is pretty pathetic.

Could you please be a little more specific and clarify what you meant by "what I see racing produces for the majority of kids is pretty pathetic."

Thanks

Sure they come out as amazing skiers no doubt but the families I have seen involved in racing: kids come out of it with a lack of school focus, some of the kids I knew barely graduated or didn't at all and had to upgrade, pathetic with how easy graduating is now where I live (Canada). The cost of ski racing puts a ton of stress on families involved, kids become spoiled due to the restrictions of the sport forcing new gear. A large majority of racers I deal with at my local hill are shots who think they are above the rules and can do what they want because they are good skiers. Many that I've talked to can't appreciate other forms of skiing. This is from my experience from local hills around me and families I know.

I avoid buying from large corporations when possible.

I was around when ON3P Jiberesh and Saga were created. Selling products out of a garage. So much love to those guys for keeping the dream alive

Sounds a lot like freestyle competitors too. Only different is the gear involved (instead of buying new skis every year cus of fis bullshit it's cus they break lol) and the way they (sometimes) act above everyone else is like elitish for racers and anti-society for freestyle. And it's not everyone

Is anyone turned off of Salomon, Arc'teryx, Armada, and Atomic because theyve been bought by a Chinese company?

I don't really boycott any snowsports brands but I absolutely go out of my way to support companies that manufacture in the US.

Brands who go out of their way to get all SJW-y, I'll definitely look for an alternative product but that's about it.

Maybe. I kinda thought that it was a joke because he said the opposite of what all other skiers say.

Care to give an example?

The North Face had an ad not long ago where they were piggy backing the whole migrant caravan thing. The campaign was something like 'walls are meant for climbing' or some shit.

So in effect, they were encouraging "migrants" to become felons by scaling the US border.. but they weren't speaking to migrants. The ad was targeted at emotionally charged up Americans who for some reason want to make felons out of the migrants as well.

Essentially they were trying to make sales at the expense of displaced people and ruin their chance of ever entering the country legally.

So I don't necessarily boycott their stuff. I still have TNF tee's that I wear because they're perfectly good shirts.. but, not long ago I found a deal on a tent of theirs I liked but decided to get one from a competitor of theirs instead.

Did you burn your Nike sneakers, too?

What are your thoughts on Patagonia?

HAHAHAHA yeah k bro

What about my comment do you not believe? That I'm on newschoolers and don't purchase patagonia or that I'm not familiar with patagonias politics?

brb googling "patagonia controversy that GrandThings wants me to be enraged about"

Nike, And affiliate brands owned by Nike.. I never buy any of their products anymore I just feel like Adidas has them beat by a landslide with regards to quality, service, morals, etc.

No I do not care that Adidas is Not a core brand they still make too quality products that are very stylish, never had a problem with any adidas shoes, pants, jackets, midlayers, etc.

Not buying something because you can't afford it is different than boycotting it.

this man really just dropped the npc word on the topic of clothing

Has he not browsed 4chan's fashion board? Lol... prolly rocks those fruity Osiris high tops.

There's a gas station by my house that kicked me out when I was parked at the pump texting an ol' military buddy who's in bad health. Even bought gas so I wasn't loitering, it was about 9pm on a friday night and there was noone else around and the guy shoo'd me away 'sir it's private property we're closed'

Maybe he thought I was installed a card reader to scam shit? Idk. Shit's wack tho I'll never go back.

I used to feel the same way and still can't drop a stupid amount of money in some outerwear. I don't know if Patagonia is in the same class but over the holidays my pops gave me a real expensive vest of theirs and it is the greatest thing I have ever worn.

If you drop $300 on sneakers so that people will thing your feet look cool, yes, you're an npc word.

Maybe it was because there's a sign on all pumps saying no cell phone use while fuelling.

I think you've picked out a few examples to generalize the sport in a way that supports your bias. But that's besides the point. Who's really at fault? Should you not buy from certain brands because of some kids' privilege?

That's fair. My quiver consists of ON3P and 4FRNT. Just out of curiosity though, what boots do you own?

under armor. Its mostly stores that I boycott, for.example nearly half the local surf shop owners near me as assholes so I despise them and will never support them.
