Do u believe in global warming?

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING how could you conceivably live on earth, and not be under a rock, and think that by any minor off chance that global warming doesnt exist??? honestly, im sorry to be rude if maybe you arent educated on the topic, but how could you have not figured this out by now. and a climate change would be very, very bad, like end-of-the-human-race bad.
 
there will be a debate as long as the biggest polluters with the deepest pockets keep paying people to dissent. As al gore said, its the same situation as with big tobacco. They were purchasing the other side of the debate. There's no science, facts, evidence or anything to support no global warming. I have never heard a credible argument to refute global warming. ever. You guys are like, oh well i'll be in the don't believe category.. I think it would be more accurate to say you are in the don't want to believe category. Our earth is fucked, and there's everything that we could do about it, but nothing that we will do about it, because humans are idiots. If we don't nuke ourselves to death, we will destroy this planet from pollution to the point that we go extinct. Our feeble minds can't comprehend it, but that is what IS going to happen. So you say to yourself, I'm a rational person. What can I do to stop this? The truth is that you can't do shit. Because as hard as you work to improve the earth, 90 percent of world, including the government have their heads buried in the sand because facing the truth is basically an admission that we're all completely fucked.
 
Of course whislter = canada. I went up to Red Mountain a week and a half ago and several people I talked to when I mentioned that I was going skiing in canada, they all thought I was going to whisler.
 
well u could believe that God controls the climates......not some ozone layer and greenhouse affect. God does what he wants, thats how he rolls
 
i may not be understanding what some of you are saying but...is the warming preparing to turn over to a global cooling or what are some of u talking about
 
yeah i live in ny too. Of course global warming is real, science proves it. But this winter ssucks because of the weather patterns. According to the trends the next couple of winters are going to suck then around 2012 it goes back to above normal snowfall.
 
^damnit, if that's true my skiing is gonna be tough, here in wisconsin, especially in green bay the weather is a bitch and it has poured for the last couple days which could have been a couple feet of snow, but no its warm and the weather sucks, i remember even just 10 years ago i could make snow caves which we dont even have anymore and also my dad said when he was in his skiing days, there was 100 inches of snow fall by christmas in northern wisconsin, this year i think there was less than like 20 which sucks for me and the midwestern skiiers and snowmobilers (which requires even more snow and i love just as much as skiing) this cycle has to go cold again and the effects of global warming need to stop because soon i will have to travel over 10 hours to find snow which would suck and casue a huge blow to the local ski and snowmobile shops, especially on the towns and businesses that rely on snow to survive, like eagle river which is dying, i hope that the cold climate will come back
 
I have lakefront property so we get huge wind drifts everyyear. We could usually make sick caves and igloos we usually wind up partying in. I live in NY and right now the lake isnt even frozen. 2 years ago ppl were ice fishing on thanksgiving.
 
Yes the earth has natural climate changes and ups and downs in the co2 levels within the atmosphere, but in the last 10yrs co2 levles are something like 70% higher then they ever have been and it has been PROVEN that humans are contributing to that. Were not going to stop it all together but we can make a huge change and have a very large effect on the world.

There are 2 arguments/sides to global warming.

First understand that a massive increase in co2 levels in the ozone layers is happening right now and its MASSIVELY larger then any other period from the last 600,000 plus years. This is causing a trend in warmer temps and shit like that which isnt good. Most ppl dont deny the fact that global warming exisits. If they argue against it, then their main argument is that they belive its just a natural trend and this time its just gone really high in co2/temp levels and eventually it will even itself out much like it has the last 600,000 yrs. The earth's warming/cooling trends generall go through a steady pattern of highs and lows every 30ish years. But the last 10 have just been EXTREMELY high.
 
if every houshold put one florescent lightbulb in replacement to a light used daily, it would be the same as taking one million cars off of the road permanantly.
 
as much as i want to deny its existance, it is evident that it is here. we have yet to get snow and ive been wearing shorts due to the conditions outside. this isnt the first time either
 
I agree w/ the geologist, if you think about it and look at history, especially in Colorado, 50 some years ago, there were seasons, colorado would only get 50 inches of snow, there are trends, while are green house gasses do have an effect on the atmosphere, you have to also consider that the earths plates are moving, and i'm pretty sure if i remember geology right, it causes continents to shift. Kind of like the whole theroy on the super continent Pangea, there used to be glaciers on places that are now tropical! I think some history lessons would be good for all of us.
 
same here--as much as a hate al gore and the movie was more an election commercial for him--you cant deny global warming after watching it.
 
global warming is a fact what it isnt is what causes it (natural or not) and if it is as bad as people say. Statistically speaking it is not nearly as bad as people say it is.
