Do trips ever go as planned?

It is the day before I depart for Park City. It is my second time out west. I am thoroughly stoked. I come home from school today to find out that my dad is having a kidney stone. Luckily, the plan was to go along with a friend and his dad to so I will be traveling with them. Now I am going away for 5 days while my dad has to stay at home with a kidney stone(he looooves skiing too)

Any other trips gone bad stories?
 
A couple of years ago:

ROADTRIP to Val Thorens!!!!

We took my dad's Audi brand new 2007 allroad.

I drove for like 10 hours straight (we had to check in on time at hour hotel and we were late because one of our friends had a delay when coming back from another trip by plane due to heavy snowfall.)

30 minutes left.

I was steaming up the snowy roads with the 350 Audi Horsepower and glorious audi Quattro system.

Drifting like no other...passing everyone left and right when suddenly!

SUPER heavy snow ahead, we stop in a designated area to put on chains. Car going downhill from a corner slips and rams us. Pushing the audi over a ledge, we roll a few times until we are stopped by trees.

Took all of next day to get the car out of there.

Hotel was nice though as a gesture for the pain we suffered we got the penthouse suite.

Too bad all our skis were broken because they were on the roof.

 
cool man- you were driving like a completr asshole 16 year old, not to suprised something happened to you. a cars a 3000 pound bulet learn some responsibility
 


I was actually driving like aan 18 year old drug crazed pornogrpaher.

It was a big karma moment, but thank god it wasn't me so insurance covered it.
