Do these used pivot 15s seem ok?

Asking 230 with brakes and everything, but I’ve heard bad things about used pivots and want to know what to look for. I’m not sure what year these are. It looks like the damage is just visual but I don’t wanna die on these either. I can get some new ones pretty cheap rn so I wanna be sure. Thanks

You can get brand new ones for $265. Why would you pay almost the same price for these beaters?

Broke and I like the color. But yeah I think I’m just gonna go with new ones

The link above is Asogear which is Corbetts eBay store. Corbetts.com lists in Canadian dollars and Asogear lists in US $ on eBay.com.

Fantastic store that knows me by name as they are only 1.5 hours from me.

if this guy says it's legit, i believe it

I won’t buy any of them that are older than the old fks orange. You start finding older blue and yellow ones from previous eras and they seem pretty sketch.

the finest vintage of fks are the black and gold ones and you can't convince me otherwise, they're just so iconic

A good general rule is bindings last ten years. I'm pretty sure I had coaches skiing those 15 years ago so idk. Sick color way for sure.

The main thing that goes on pivots fast is the forward pressure plate. The plastic wears and they spin much easier. Idk how much of an issue it is but a pair I have pivot around like crazy when they're on the back of a snowmobile or on my pack.

I came here to say, "I'm skiing 13 year-old pivots and they're fiiiiine. Go for it."

But after seeing the photo, BAIL. Bail hard. Fully disassembled? where are the baseplates? That came off a dynastar junior race ski 10 years ago, and has probably been skied hard since. I'd imagine at some point it was used for parts for a cast setup.

I would say you shouldn't stress about buying and skiing ten-year-old pivots in most cases. This is one case where you should stress, and stress hard -- especially for 250 bucks. It's worth 75 dollars tops. Go to tgr and find some used p18s or FKS for 160 bucks.

Vintage and iconic, yes. But being trustworthy at this point in time is another story .

what’s a look pivot pro?

Pivot 12 with a different colour scheme. Same price as the Pivot 12 so choose what you like the look of better. Great deal $170 US if you don’t need the metal toe of the 15 or 18. Corbetts has pivot 14s($245 CAN/$200 US) too but didn’t fit on that picture.
