Do skis come waxed?

I just ordered skis and i am wondering if they come waxed or if I have to do that myself (They are Line)

I am also wondering how much I should dull my edges if at all, can anyone help?

They have a (factory wax) i believe that doesn't do shit. I wax mine with like 4-5 layers when i get new skis. Also detune yours based on how much you hit rails. I like 200+ rails a day so i detuned mine for like 30 minutes haha. Had my other pair detuned by a shop a moderate amount.
 
You should wax them.

Just make a few passes under your bindings with a stone (or whatever you are detuning with) and it will take the edge down. I spend about 4 minutes detuning my skis for park after sharpening the edges. I think 30 is a little overboard.
 
Skis do come factory waxed. It won't last long, so I'd advise giving them something before you head out. A single wax will do, no need for 4 or 5 layers.

Dulling your edges depends on what kind of skiing you're doing. Hitting groomers all day? Don't detune the edges? A little bit of everything? Detune them slightly, mainly under the bindings. Park all day? Detune them a little more. You still need some edge in front of and behind the bindings, otherwise turning will be awful. Doesn't need to be razor sharp if you're skiing park all day though.
 
I always ski my new skis a week (or like the equivalent so 5ish days ) then, I wax them/or get my friend to wax them
 
Some places prep a ski much better than others but I still take the same approach.

1 run a true bar down the ski to see how well the base angles are set.

2 if its off I have it base ground and strip the sidewalls if they need it.

3 reset all the angles base and side to my preference, usually 87 on the side and 1 on the base or .5 on piste only skis.

4 wax and lots of it, good few layers of a decent base prep wax.

5 brush it out with brass then nylon.
 
I keep the final point of contact at the tip and tail sharp, round under the bindings, and slightly detune everything else. Also it might help to round the tip and tail if there is edge there to keep it from catching.
