Do skiers look as cool as boarders?

Imo, yes. But a lot of people i know disagree with me.. Im talkin bout freestyle skiers and boarders, not the gaper looking peeps on the groomers all day long...
 
All of my friends, even snowboarders, say that freeski tricks look really sweet. And in most cases better that snowboard tricks. But really either way if u r skiing/boarding at an really advanced level it's gonna look cool!
 
Skiers can do way cooler grabs, plus any combination of spins & flips that snowboarders can do so there's way more room for us to get creative and do cooler stuff. Snowboarders try to make up for it by doing dumb shit but it doesn't work, they'll never look as cool. If anyone on here thought that snowboarding was as cool/as fun as skiing then they wouldn't be skiers.
 
Skiers for sure. Snowboarders always seem to spin so much slower. Especially since they cant do crossed grabs. And somehow strait air grabs and 180s are good tricks for them.

When I got my Saga gear my dad asked me, "Why are you trying to look like a snowboarder?" So I think we're on the right track
 
Kind of pointless asking a question like that on this site seeing as 90% of people here ski so you're going to get really biased answers.

Skiers definitely have a wider variety of tricks such as cross grabs. I'd have to go with skiers but there are boarders who fuck shit up every day of the week.

Yeah right! I might somehow think that snowboarders are cooler than skiers, I guess it's because their moves looks more swagger than skiers. From the balance of having a single board. I think it becomes more impressive too because of their short films. Just a thought!
 
I think it all depends. I think big spins on skis look better than on a snowboard, and I think it's really cool to see snowboarders in bc/ big mountain. Skiers on rails tho definitely look better than snowboarders. I don't think there's anything more visually appealing than swaps, especially done by the right skier.
 
I'm really not a fan of the tight fitting clothes that a lot of snowboarders are wearing these days and it is even starting to show up more in skiing. I think both sports look sick with the proper amount of bagginess.

NOT.

Style is personal and acquired. There have been legends on both sides. Trying to argue some ultimate cool factor is STUPID and decidedly UNCOOL. So fuck this thread.

Unfortunately the non-skiing community relates snowboarding to skateboarding and is therefore seen as cooler. But skiing is cooler anyway due to the versatility and creativity.
