i have a old pair of smiths that are all scratched up and dont really help much would a new a pair of Oakleys or something actually help my visibility that much in flat light/high snow days.(anyone got some good suggestions for what ones i should buy(any good pair dont care about brand) i ski whistler and would only use them for flat light, fog or heavy snowfall)

the key in your case is not the goggle its self but what lense to use..go on to oakley or any others site and choose the right lense for the lighting you will be skiing

yeah the goggle frame is how it feel on your face, like there are different sizes. the most important part is the lense in which there are normal lenses then there are spherical, spherical lense gogs are more expensive, but the lense gives you a better view, and a better peripheral vision

smith I/O's, they come with 2 lenses. One for sun and one for night. They've worked perfectly for 2 full seasons, and I live on the east coast so I see everything you can imagine at least once during the season.

IMO boots and goggles are the two most crucial pieces of ski equipment. Don't skip quality on either of them.

Any goggle that has a spherical lens and that has the tint you want will be good. You also need to find the goggle that fits your face properly.

Someone mentioned the i/o goggle from smith, they are definitely awesome goggles. The main thing that makes this goggle attractive is that you can change the lenses with ease. Every pair come with a free extra lens, so you have one for bright sunny days and one for lowlight skiing.

so true... to the thread maker try to find something good on sale.for example i got simth I/O's on sale for 52 last year.. you just have to shop around and go after something that works for you

If you get a nice big goggle with a good lens, you'll be amazed at what it does for your vision. I ride whistler too, and I personally think the Oakley HI yellow lens is perfect for those exact conditions you mentioned. It really boosts contrast. You can get it in any oakley goggle, crowbars, splices, aframes, whichever fits your face best.
