Do memories come back from concussion.

I was skiing at Perfect North yesterday for me first time. I happened to catch an edge and take a slam straight to the face. I have a concussion and am feeling fine now but I am wondering if my memories of yesterday will ever come back. I don't even remember seeing my friends who I was skiing with all day.
 
I used to no the answer to that question before my last head injury. But seriously it depends. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Head injuries are fucking dumb though.
 
worst concussion i've ever had was slipping at a waterpark.

could not for the life of me remember what happened prior to arriving at the hospital..... even with friends and family trying to tell you what occured ive never remembered any of it.

head injuries are extremely dangerous.

we had a family friend slip on ice and went into a coma for years.
 
I had a concussion when I was playing Rugby. To this day, I can't remember who we played, can't remember how exactly it happened. The only thing I can remember talking link a drunk to my friends as I walked away. Tell them I remember you getting here, you getting here, etc. Then when I got to my GF, I was like, "How did you get here." She replied "You drove me -_-"

And now, when people tell me about the game, who we play, etc. I can't remember it even when I'm told about it now. It's so weird.
 
It's honestly dependent on each injury. I've been doing things and suddenly I'm aware I've done them before, or I'll be able to faintly recall something.

I "lost" eight months of my life to that fog, and honestly I think it's totally possible. HOWEVER you can totally create false memories to fill in the gaps as to what happened.
 
It varies. Some people gradually remember parts as they recover from the injury. While for others the memories never come back.

I hope you're planning on time some time off skiing to recover before jumping back into things.

I apparently threw away almost all the food in my fridge once after a concussion thinking everything was expired when most of it had at least 2 weeks left. Then I got angry at my roommates asking where all the food was. Then I thought I drove to the grocery store and got lost in the parking lot looking for my car. Took my roommates half an hour to find me.

Went the the hospital the next day... the next 2 weeks are blurry. I really only know what my roommates told me from when it happened. I was forgetting everything for the next few months though. My short term memory took a while to get back. Sadly my professor didn't take that as an excuse as to why I wanted more time on my final. Concussions and college are bad.

Some of my others have been fine though. I don't remember the immediate events, but the days are still there.
 
I guess I slammed pretty hard onto my back some point last season catching an edge riding in powder? I was in the park so i'm still slightly confused, but my friend found me at the bottom, laying down smoking a cigarette. I don't remember shit.

But, at the same time i've gotten concussions and remembered parts of things. I got a bunch on top of each other last year which was the shittiest feeling ever, and now I forget like 2 months of my life. Shit happens when you're stupid I guess.
 
Not it my experience. I remember telling my roommate that I think I hit my head pretty hard (which apparently I repeated about 9 times) and a brief interaction with ski patrol, but the rest of the day is completely hazy. Concussions are bad news.
 
last year i got really fucking baked and then hit my head super hard and was trying to figure out if i had a concussion or not, the scariest part is how they take a few minutes to really sink in. Luckily i wasnt but it was still so scary. Head injuries are so fucking crazy
 
Last season I was taking my aasi certification test and from what people have told me, I was traversing toe side and some lady hit me and I flew back onto my head so hard I bounced. I took the rest of my test and passed somehow and I woke up the next morning freaking out because I thought I didn't pass.

Unfortunately two days after that happened, I slipped in the bathroom after someone left the shower running and flooded the floor and hit the same spot in the back of my head. I still can't remember most of that next month or so but bits and pieces are coming back slowly.

Ill agree with what everyone else has already said, no two head injuries are alike and you may or may not get memories back. Just take it easy.
