Do I need to wax my jib?

This summer I made a 8’ long handrail. I’m planning on bringing it to a hill near my house when there’s snow. I might have to fight off some kids with sleds but it’ll be alright. Do I need to wax the rail though? I’ll be using beater skis that haven’t ever been waxed since I got them and they are beat as hell.

It’s a stainless steel rail. One of the reasons I think I need wax is cause the pipe isn’t perfectly smooth, it has these tiny nibs throughout (if you’re into woodworking think a 100 grit finish) and I think wax would help with that.

feel like a grinder would help more then a wax but ig im not sure. ive hit some bumpy ass rails at wild and they worked fine

Yeah I’ve experienced the same thing. I’ll just wait to hit it and make a call from there.
