Do I have a concussion?

I dont see how I could have a concussion, but I do seem to have a few symptoms of it, I was on my garden drop in the other day and crashed, got a pretty bad headache all day after that, but i watched the video later and my head didn't touch the ground, even though it felt like it did. I was also wearing a helmet. This happened 2 days ago, and last night I've had a headache and also tonight I've had one too, whenever I lie down I guess. Been drinking a Lot of water too so doubt I'm dehydrated. Also when I came out of school it was super bright. Probably the brightest it's ever been and apparently that's another symptom. So what do you guys think, is it possible I have a concussion?

I'd say its possible but if your head never actually hit the ground its probably more likely just bad whiplash from the fall. Either way there probably isnt much you can do consider its already been 2 days. Just take it easy for a while and make sure you dont bash your head again.

I've had two concussions, both from football. They hurt less the more you get them, and become less noticeable.

My first one I got knee'd in the back of the helmet on a fumble return. Everything was purple, I lied down on the sideline, and I'm not gonna lie, I shed a tear. I couldn't look at light, and went into my bedroom and just lied there. That one sucked.

Last one I got hit head on, stinger right down my neck, and just was bad for like 15 minutes, but a concussion nonetheless.

If it hurts a little bit when you shake your head, have trouble remembering common facts (address, phone number, where you're at, age, etc.) shortly after the accident are pretty good indicators, as are sensitivity to light and loud noise.

Go to primecare if you're covered, and ask them to check you out. You have to do a twenty question questionnaire, then you're diagnosed.

But seriously, GET THE FUCK CHECKED OUT. Because concussions are like the Wu-tang clan. They ain't to be fucked with. And they get less noticeable. But vibes to you for wearing a can. Shows you're smart.

Cheers dude

i would say get it checked out.

some other things you should watch out for are like deja-vu or thinking you have had dreams of what happend prior to the actual event.

Thanks to everyone, good to know you can count on new schoolers to be serious when it's needed. I also realised that in 3 subjects I had today I wasn't really paying any attention at all in them, but when I was told to work I did. I put that because I noticed concentration is an apparent symptom. Although I could just be thinking I have these problems?

Yeah they become less noticeable because your brain becomes bruised and you start to lose your marbles

you could. You're brain could have smacked the back of your skull, even though you didn't touch the ground.

I would say you do. I had a friend do this same thing. He was just whiplashed but his brain his the side of his skull and this gave Gina bad concussion. You do not have to hit your head to have a concussion.

Even if your head did not touch the ground you could have gotten prertty bad wiplash wich would whip your brain around giving you a concussion

also a symptom, seriously go to a doctor, and try not too hit your head. Good thing the season is pretty much over unless your in a super heavy snowfall area.

concussions scare the shit out of me. i mean i know that i hit my head a few times pretty legitly while skiing, mtbing and on other occasions. at least two times i wasnt able to remember anything (i was out for like 2 minutes or so). like my name, which grade i was in. i really had to think actively which grade i was in. then my buddy asked me what grade he was in (i definitely knew that because we always drove to school together, i literally couldve named all of his teachers and stuff) and i had no fucking clue. so i just guessed something and it was true. in hindsight not very intelligent that i didnt get myself checked out.

its your head. its your brain. be careful with it or youre increasing the risk of several severe brain diseases, most notably alzheimer.

so when in doubt, go get yourself checked out.

ive hit my head quite a few times but usually dont get a headache, just a little rattled at the time, but most likely thanks to the helmet i always wear. but to be honest ive never gone to get any of them checked out. from what ive heard all they do is diagnose it, then tell you to make sure someone is with you for the first 24 hours after the incident so nothing ridiculous happens. and they tell you not to ski for a number of days after the headache goes away.

whats the benefit of going to get checked out other than knowing forsure whether you have a concussion or not...?

since it seems to have subsided, I drank 6+ litres of water today, so If I have a headache tonight again I'll go get it checked out, but if not I'll just leave it, because I did the eye test and my pupils do shrink when they look at bright light.
