Divots at the tops of skis

Hey guys stupid question here: what do the divots in the tops of skis? I have last years Revision Talismans and the divots pooped out in the top. I haven't noticed any difference but should I get them replaced?

Their purpose is to prevent tip delamination. If you feel like delam is a risk for you then get them replaced, or get them replaced if you have problems with delam down the road.
