Dislocated Kneecap

So on Sunday night, the last night of spring break, I went with my friend to the skatepark to get his jacket he had forgotten there. This was my first mistake, entering a skatepark after not skating for like 5 or so years. Then I decided to borrow his board and try some stuff around the park, real easy stuff but I kinda suck at skating. So after about ten minutes, I rolled down a bank, and messed up big. I fell and slammed pretty hard, and instantly felt a horrible pain in my knee. I looked down, and through my jeans I could see that my knee cap was on the side of my leg almost, and knew I was screwed.

So an ambulance came, took me to the ER, where they popped it back into place (painful) and now I'm stuck with a knee Immobilizer brace, and crutches. This kinda sucks and I'm dissapointed in my skating ability.

So here I am now, typing this all out for no reason other than that I'm stuck on the couch and bored. And guess what, the snow is coming back to stevens, 4 feet supposedly this weekend, and I'm out for the season. Plus, I just got a call for a job interview for this week, and have had to delay it until I'm off crutches and able to walk around. Shitty.

Well,TLDR: dislocated knee cap trying to skateboard with friend at skatepark, wasn't even intending on skating at all that day, and now I'm crippled for a month or more. Lesson learned, don't be overconfident in a skatepark

Man that sucks! I know someone who dislocated their knee cap playing football and they were messed up for a long time. Not trying to scare you or anything haha! But really rest and listen to the doc because you dont want to ruin your summer too! Best of luck!

i did that same thing a couple of seasons ago, it sucks. A few weeks after it healed up i messed my other knee up playing frisbee or something. It was a rough year

how long on crutches? i had/have some knee problems this season. only got in 4 days and crutches for 12 weeks. Make sure you do pt. good luck

Hit park with the uni trip this week and shredded the mountain, had some pain on both knees when shredding (trying to smash racers) and only managed 3/6 days with the majority half days. That said the holiday was more alcohol related than skiing related.

only hit the jerry park threw some 3s, 90s on 90s off and 3s on the box.

that said before I was only learning 270s out of rails and 5s before I got injured

been trying to hit stuff in the gym managing leg extensions and so forth to 60kg as advised by my physician.

I guess what i'm trying to say is this isn't the end, I found it is a weird injury to come back from but y'all be fine.

I have a ski racing dryslope finals in a month, hopefully I will be able to do well!

The worst part was watching my friends go shred every day not gonna lie!

keep going homie
