Disappointed in my faction skis

I've only had the Candide 1's half a season, and have been pretty damn careful looking out for rocks. I'm really bummed actually because these are pricey skis, and would've expected a more durable ski from a company getting so much hype. :(
 
this dosent seem to be that hard of a fix if you dont ski park that much. it looks like it just broke where the edge ends if you take it to your local shop they can try to fix it also i saw an article on how to fix them ill go look for it and post the link
 
I don't think the problem is how to fix it. I think he's just upset that it happened to them in the first place.

Have you talked with @faction yet?

yeah i would be bummed to but if you hit a rock at going any speed theres no telling what will happen, he had to of it something cause snow dosent cause that, it all depends on the impact, angle, and speed that was present when the breaking occured. just showing all sides of the story but yeah it does suck i had a pair of filthy riches break on me after 20 days. my fault entirely but being nice to the company and showing respect will go a long way. dont go in there pissed guns blazing.

Be respectful, be honest, don't try to bullshit them. You'd be surprised at what a reputable businesses do for respectful/responsible customers.

Yea I tried to be as friendly as possible, and yea the snow has been rough and minimal in Colorado this year so rocks are everywhere.
 
i guess all you can do is pray my friend. if there a solid company they will help you out in any way possible. if you send them in and theres little top sheet chipping and no other big scratches they might warranty them, maybe fix them for free, or give you a good discount. but best of luck to you

Yeah send them an email because they might fix it for you or sen you a new ski if not definetly look at the how to in the link this guy posted but your broken edge doesn't seem to difficult to fix so I wouldn't be to worried.
 
Had the same thing happen to my factions this season, 4 big core shots and the edge cracking. I emailed them and I just got a new pair of skis yesterday. I'm stoked on their customer service.
 
I they use a 4000 sintered base on the candides, which means it will hold wax better, but it's less durable. Also, its extremely easy to repair, so fix er up kid.

So you got a core shot and are complaining about durability? You hit a rock dude... This should not be a warranty issue, but if Faction does something for you good for them.

Faction has awesome warranty process. Just be nice, and sometimes it helps to go to a shop that sells faction and have the shop guys call it in. If you were in vt i would totally tell you to stop in and we would see what we can do for you. But just remember the guys at faction ski too and they will call your bullshit if you aren't honest with them.
 
Its kind of a weird place for an edge to rip out. I had a ski that did that on the tail though so who knows shit happens I guess.

all nice skis break, slightly biased opinion here but i think praxis skis are built really well and last a bit longer than other skis, but I've snapped a pair, cracked a bunch of edges in the tips like what you did although i still have somehow not taken an edge out underfoot on a praxis ski even on the pair i hit rails with. anyways you just gotta deal with it, warranty is nice if you can do it at time that you don't need the skis.
