Dirt biking pics from today- critique?

first ride of the season today and here are some pictures that I snapped off. I'm just getting into sports photography so any criticism would be appreciated, especially on the editing. I never used to edit my photos but I got photoshop and figured I would goof around. (hopefully my saturation didn't go overboard?) As for the actual content, this is the best we could do. There's too much snow up in the mountains so we were stuck shredding a small sorner track in a sand pit haha

p.s- might be crappy quality due to them being from facebook, but you get the idea

Thanks!

I would have to agree^ the ninth one is such a sick shot! Good work man.

I don't think you went overboard on the editing at all. looks real nice.

What did you shoot these with?

ninth is the best
I would use a lower f-stop so that the back ground isn't distracting from your subject and it's always fun to play around with low shutter speeds too

im just going to hop on the band wagon and agree that the 9th is the best. i really liked all of them tho and especially the colors in the first one.

Wow after reading what you wrote I was expecting a hell of a lot worse! These are really sweet! I like em a lot. I think you should get some lighting in there, it would really make the riders pop.

agree with michelle. a flash to help illuminate the front of the rider wouldve made these epic. but your timing and comp are on point. cool stuff.

Awesome! Thanks for the replies and compliments, I really appreciate it. For the guy who asked what I'm shooting with- a D90 with the p.o.s. 18-105mm (really want to add some good glass in the future...) As far as lighting goes, once again I have little experience with that type of shooting. The built-in flash seems kind of useless from what I've experimented with, so would something like an sb-600 be good for that, or more along the lines of off-camera strobes? The good thing is that I'm taking a digital class for one of my electives and I've been told that I will have access to lighting equipment within the next few weeks. Very excited to get out to an actual motocross track to shoot jumps as well..
