Direct tunnel mount racks

I know this should go in gear, but please forgive me, I’m hoping for a quick answer.

anyone run the direct tunnel mount racks from CFR? If so how are they? I don’t care if I have to drill holes and I kind of want to leave the linq brackets available. What do you think?

Not necessarily the answer you’re looking for but if you have the tools to build a metal rack to then bolt the brackets too, I’d suggest that. Having somewhere to load a bag lifted off the tunnel is clutch cause if you are planning on bringing a tunnel bag, it’ll probably burn if you put it right on the tunnel.

Linq brackets on rack with ski mounts is the way. Being able to take everything off the tunnel is very convenient.

Like I said I want to leave the linq brackets open. I don’t have any linq accessories yet but I do plan on getting.

anyways I made some brackets copying cfr direct tunnel mounts out of 3/4” alu. They use linq position 0 and linq position 3. Top holes only. Nothing on the side. M10 fasteners holding it down. Some old snowboard binding straps.















Two pairs of boots and helmets for in the bag along with a hefty first aid kit. The base camp duffel side straps almost perfectly line up with the linq brackets.

seems ok. I wish I made the front brackets a little deeper so there is more angle on the skis. And I wish I made them stick out a bit wider. Without the bag it’s fine, but the when it’s full the bindings kind of dig into the bag.

I guess I’ll have to wait until the winter to do a proper test. Oh well.
