Difference dalbello lupo factory and lupo pro hd

The pro HD has a PU shell and a PA cuff with carbon fibre reinforcing compared to the factory which has a carbon fibre cuff and a Grillamid shell. This means the pro HD is about 300g/boot heavier than the factory.

Despite both being rated 130 flex the Pro HD has a stiffer forward flex with their 'B' tongue compared to the Factory's 'C' tongue. The tongues are however interchangeable so, if it's too much/too little you can get the other tongue.

The heavier overall build of the pro HD makes it ride more like a pure alpine boot with a better dampened 'suspension' feel compared to the more energetic, lighter-weight factory.

The factory, i think, comes with a wrap liner whereas the Pro HD comes with a classic tongue liner so the fit is a little different but both are still mouldable.

So if you're looking to buy either, it comes down to what you think your balance of uphill vs down is. If you're willing to compromise a bit of your downhill suspension feel for carrying less weight uphill, take the Factory. If you don't mind a little extra weight if you get a better downhill ride, take the Pro HD.

They stopped making the factory a couple years ago unfortunately and this will be the last year they make the pro HD. The new stuff looks... interesting.

Thanks for sharing this very detailed and informative response with me.

Really helped me out a lot! :)
