Did video games fall off?

All new games totally suck.. why? Games used to be awesome up until like Fallout 4, Now they're riddled with micro-transactions and endless patch updates... It's like they sell you the Pasta first, then you gotta buy the Meatballs, Sauce, Cheese, Fork separately??

The only games i still play when i do:

-Skate

-Dark Souls (1 & 3)

-GTA V (online)

-Rocket League

-Fallout (3, NV, & 4)

-Steep

-

Im sure i'm forgetting a couple but its been a while..

lol GTA V Online was the beginning of all this micro transaction stuff, it basically almost forced you to buy sharkcards and penalized you for "not playing the game right". Fornite and shit just took that stuff to a new level with a free-to-play platform. AAA game developers realized that theres a lot more kids with access to moms credit card gaming currently than adults and will probably get bullied at school for not having the latest skins lol

Im just tired of developers like UbiSoft releasing these insanely amazing gameplay reveal trailers knowing they'll be putting out a severely downgraded product. That kinda shit needs to stop, and developers rushin products out the door

Actually it was fifa

Ultimate team was great before price ranges. Also handicapping and match scripting became abundantly obvious

Since the watchdogs and first division debacle Ubi has really toned down that sort of stuff.

Div 2, and origins/Odyssey are both really slick games.

People will be quick to say that the only games getting made are all these always on games as a service type but that's only because they get the most coverage. Single player games are still thriving, new god of war and Spiderman are very good

Ubi killed it with the updates to the 1st Divison and Ghost Recon Wildlands and The Divison 2 plays so well. You're spot on about the single-player games coming out. GoW, Spiderman, RDR2, all are amazing games to play and super de duper pysched on what Naughty Dog is gonna do with The Last of Us II. Thats gonna be an insane game.

Theres always a method of hustle that works better than the rest, they just dont always tell you. But agreed, they went overboard with the shark cards. Dark Souls 3 was the last wholesome game i think i played

Nah they didn’t fall off. It’s just that every game concept has already been done. So everything just feels like a repackaged experience

Games are at an all time peak and still rising, you crazy bruh.

If you don't agree with microtransactions, think about it this way: games for ps1 were like $50-60(even n64 gamer were $50+) full games are still $60, that makes no sense, that's why games have microtransactions. You don't HAVE to buy them, but it certainly adds to the game (DLC, battle pass, whatever) but games should cost $100+

Until they add RP/other current mods to the real game. GTA 6 is gonna sell like hotcakes, just like ps5 and whatever the new xbox is, but TBH if you like playing video games, get a computer.

Rocket league and Minecraft are the only games I find enjoyable anymore all first person shooters suck ever since BO2 and battlefield 3 and 4

There are plenty of good new games coming out all the time. It all depends on what you like, how much time you spend researching the new games coming out and what systems you have access to.

I have personally been waiting forever for the FF7 Remake.

This game (Ad Infinitum) I thought was cancelled but was recently updated they are hiring some new staff for it. Seems like an interesting concept similar to Wolfenstein.

If you haven't played VR I'd suggest you give it a whirl. It's not for everyone though. Check out a VR arcade before just blindly buying one because you might get VR sickness really bad.

eheath is right. If you like gaming get a PC. It kinda depends on some things though because I am not that great at keyboard and mouse for FPS games other than quake style games. I prefer some games on console and some I prefer on PC. Then there's just the crazy amount of things you can Do with a PC in general. Games on steam are cheaper in general. You can test out other peoples unreal engine fan remakes for free.

With PC and unreal engine you can even make your own games if you really hate how the state of games are in. Think it's too much work? You can download a bunch of asset packs for free and make a game without even having to build a game from the ground up. If you want to make your own assets then there are free programs for that too. There has never been a better time for gaming and building games. Shitty thing is sometimes you gotta spend $ for a good PC. If you don't want to spend money and already have a PC get the epic games launcher they give you free games every month. Whether you hate Epic Games or love them you can't be so mad at them you miss out on free stuff you may enjoy.

if any of you guys are masochistic enough to enjoy ark, hit me up if you're looking for some action. We have a pretty well entrenched setup on officials and we're gearing up for a very large raid

I enjoyed it quite a bit the sniping mechanics in the game was really enjoyable also with planes. But the maps got boring after a while but other than that it was a solid game but lack of guns killed it for me.

See, I feel like you DO have to buy into most micro-transaction schemes. Otherwise you're really not getting the full experience that they advertised. The way games like C.O.D World at War did it was totally fair. You get the FULL GAME upon purchase, then the map packs are just extras; Non Essential.

A game like GTA Online you either have to buy $$$ to even be remotely involved in their newest update or grind super hard. Which im down to grind, dont get me wrong, but they pay you chump change. You're stuck grinding the same 6 missions for literal DAYS just to get to the same point you would be at if you bought the Shark cards. You dont think thats kinda wack?

The fastest money making method for beginners: Vehicle Sourcing, but you cant even start that method until you have...

-$1.5 mil (CEO office)

-$1.5 mil (Vehicle Warehouse)

=3 mil (just to start working)

In order to obtain that 3mil you can either:

-Play over 100 Double Money missions (assuming they're offering double money lobbys, which they do alot)

OR

-Spend 50 USD

It's just kinda greedy, especially knowing that rockstar made ALL they're money back in Pre-Orders alone.

Fallout 76 was shit, graphics weren't bad, but it was ultimately shit

I doubt it would be a tough sell bcs of the story mode. It would however be a tough sell to get old players to start totally new online... Its gonna be interesting to see how they compensate returning players that have invested months into their accounts. If they transfer everything, new players would totally hate that. They should honestly make 2 separate discs for Story and Online to make Online faster.

Also, i wonder what they'll do with the GTA 5 servers.. the amounts of money some people have invested, i feel like it would be robbery to ever shut them down...

also yeah, fuck Fallout76

Can't go wrong with some good old fashioned RuneScape

Bro, OSRS is legendary. I slowly started chippin' away at a new account around when Mobile came out. I had way more free time at work then and nobody could tell i was cutting willows, but i dont really think i'd be playing it if it didn't bring back such fond memories lol

I still play the old games from like 2012. BF3 and AC3 are my personal favorites. I love playing the remasters of COD4 and AC3 but all the "micro dlc's" in call of duty are just pointless, i miss the old shit back when it was simple and thats why I always find myself back on MW2 or MW3 and BO2 but we all know BO2 was ruined by modders.

I think we need an OSRS thread and maybe a clan chat haha

if you buy black market gp and use that to buy a bond, membership is like 40-50% of the price as buying it legit. Not my proudest moment but that's been the move for me for like 6 months now lol.

I did set up a CC, it's called NEWSCHOOLERS

Come talk shit while I fish infernal eels for the next 3 weeks

im on rs3 too i just dont like the new format. im furypig7 on there

RDR2 singleplayer was incredible. I cried. Spider-Man PS4 was dope.

I play fighting games semi-competitively, MK11 is great.

I also think Call of Dutys schedule of releasing a game every year is hurting them. Let people be more invested in one game before forcing the next one thats been rushed through production on people.

MW and Warzone look like they are set up to last for a few years but then there is ramblings of black ops: Cold war this year. I would rather fork out money for more MW than any Black ops.

True this is the first one in a while that I've been invested in at all so it's definitely a step in the right direction. Now all they need to do is remaster MW2 mp but sadly, I don't think it's gonna happen.

I thought they were dropping the MW2 maps into MW? I was actually super stoked on that, but its been awhile since I followed up on it.

I think that was their reasoning to why they weren't gonna make a remaster, but idk if they're gonna do all the maps that were in the game. That would be sick tho because, once you take off the nostalgia goggles, this game is definitely waaay more balanced than mw2 was so it would be a pretty good experience having those maps in this game.

Yeah I agree, MW2's maps are the best in the series with the balanced gun play of the new MW would be the ultimate. Favela, Highrise, Scrapyard, Skid row, and the best of all time Terminal. Out of all the MW2 maps its hard to pick one that is as terrible as the all the new MW maps.

If it hurts them, they'd stop. They keep doing it because people keep buying the game. WZ will probably be the first COD to carry on for multiple years, I'm sure they'll just integrate every new COD with WZ until they make a "new" BR game, but they'll prob go F2P with season passes for a long time.

Who's on that OG Battlefield grind? I love BF4 hardcore conquest for 64p online, remastered MW and MW2 campaigns for nostalgia
