Did my Marker touring bindings ruin my Surface new lifes?

So this is my first year with touring bindings. I'm running marker dukes on 194cm 2011/2012 Surface new lifes. Now I'm not sure if it's the ski or the size or the binding but the ski just feels dead and hard to ski compared to my 184 2010/2011 new lifes that I regularly ski on. I realize that the dimensions of both skis is vastly different including there production year. Has anyone experience this with touring bindings? It's making it almost impossible to butter because the ski seems to not flex.

thanks

A binding with a plate under it (most AT bindings) usually does stiffen the ski underfoot, that's probably what you are noticing. I've never found it to be that big of a difference though.
