Did I just f*** up my Atomic 120 Bentchetlers?

I ride the 192 cm Atomic Bentch Chetlers and am 6'3" at ~175 lbs. My local shop guy talked me into putting quiver killer inserts into my 120's so I did not have to get another shift for my 100's. Unfortunately, they used a Helicoil the first time the shifts were mounted and so they had to move to + or - 1cm. I saw that Tim Durtschi had posted that he rode his skis at -1.5 from the center so I figured that -2cm would be fine. But I just realized that Tim was talking about -1.5 inches, not cm, so his skis are almost exactly -4cm from center where I could have had my shifts mounted. Now I am just kicking myself and wondering how much difference I will notice this season going from -3cm to -2cm. Feel free to call me out if I am just being neurotic, I just really love this skis.

Do you know for sure that Tim said inches and not cm? I don't know many who use inches when talking about skis. If he did say inches he'd be about the only one I know who'd ski that ski that far back from center. -2cm to -3cm is what most people seem to mount them at, and I personally like the ski at -2.5cm. Obviously I'm not Tim and don't ski close to that well, but I really wouldn't worry about it and just run it to see if you like it.

In other news, hopefully the shop that made an error compensated you somehow on that miss drill/helicoil.

I had the same thought with inches vs. cm. I have never heard anyone talk about them in terms of inches. I attached the post that I assume is from Tim and it definitely says inches. Thanks for the feedback on the -2cm. I think it will be fine it is just a little anxiety-inducing since I invested a lot in this set-up.

Also, I went and talked to the shop after your post and they gave me 50$ back for the binding. Not much, but better than nothing. Thanks for the help!

i mounted mine at -2.5cm back and they rip. I've never ridden them at recommended but I haven't felt the need to wonder what it's like

funny! I still have this feeling like he just said inches by accident. haha who knows!

Of your using quiverkillers you can always mount your bindings again further back as long as the holes are about a centimeter apart you will be fine.

There's a dude on the tgr forums that has put like 17 or more holes in his skis with inserts and they ski just fine

I wouldn't take ski advice from anyone who measures mount point in inches. That's just messed up.

But also, pro skiers are not known for being coherent. Durtschi either means inches, which makes him an idiot, or he messed up his units. Either way, that ski has plenty of sweet spot, it's not going to be the end of the world at all. And for the record, I HIGHLY recommend QC or helicoils in that ski. Its construction doesn't hold screws so well. My shift toes developed a wild amount of play because the holes ovalized on the single toe hole of the ski. Made me think it doesn't have the best binding matt coverage.

Can you imagine going into a ski shop and asking them to put in a mount -1.5 INCHES from center? I feel like they'd probably convert to cm just so their brains didn't explode.
