Did i go to big?

Im 5'6 145lbs and got 173 Line Blends. Only been on them a couple times so far and they seem a little big.Will it just take time to get used to them? THanks
 
Where is this Big that you speak of? Only you can be sure if you went there.

That said, no, I do not think you went too big. You'll get used to them.
 
Its really personal preference.. I like my skis a little shorter and wider.. im 6'1 and I ride 171s
 
Unless your an LP, you'll grow into them. Give it time and maybe take a ski lesson to be a better skier.

Seriously, consider taking a day and get in a advance level lesson. I try to take a lesson a season. Despite a healthy population of instructors being D-bags (not all but some) they are good at teaching people to be better skiers. If your not in a program it's worth paying someone qualified to check out your abilities and give you some advice.

Just an Idea.
 
shit i feel like a pussy, im 6' 170 and i ski 173 chronics haha. cant afford new skis this year :(
 
ya man, my chronics are so bouncy and fun to carve, they honestly let me carve similar to my race skis. i always rent ON3P billygoats when i go out west, but nothing beats short skis for NY and PA crud and ice
 
You're good man. I ride 184 Atomic Patents center mounted. Atomic measures them weird so I guess they're more of 180 though. They're about an inch taller than I am.

If you center mount them, they won't feel nearly as long.

i am really similar to you. i was also using 161s last year and will be using 173s this year and im also 5'6. they will be fine just will take time to get used to
