Detuning Rockered Skis?

I was going up the lift the other day, and this guy who seemed to know his shit pretty well suggested that I detune my edges on my '10 Obsetheds, just the parts above the effective edge on the tips. I have only been on the skis for two days so far, so I am not completely used to rocker, but I did notice some catchiness when the ski was turned over hard. I saw a thread on TGR and though it may prove useful or if anyone on here has stuff to add.

you really don't need any edge once its off the snow, i detune all my rockered skis back to the contact point.

Ya, those skis catch like crazy so it might be a good idea. I really wasn't a fan of them on anything other than going straight.
