Detuning park skis?

I am new to the park and people are telling me that i should smooth my edges out. I dont know a lot about this so anyone with any experience with detuning park skis that could help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

if your new to the park you don't need to detune your skis. You will slide on rails and boxes fine and they will detune naturally. Honestly not worth sacraficing your edge

what I did that worked really well is I took a file (VERY LIGHTLY) to the tip and tails and underfoot (about 6in. from the ends of the binding each way). then I got a piece of sand sponge ($3 or $4) and sanded the whole ski. it got rid of the burrs that the file created and also lightly dulled them too. I went this past weekend and had no problems on anything
