Detroit Mountain Reopening! (Detroit Lakes MN)

I am very excited to announce that Detroit Mountain in Detroit Lakes MN is reopening after being closed for 12 years. Overall have had $6 million in improvements. They have purchased 2 new ski lifts, 2 new magic carpets, and 2 new rope tows.

Some of the money is going into building a new chalet.

They are also pushing dirt for a jumpline and quarterpipe. (pictured here)

Personally, I can't wait to get out there. over Christmas I'll be visiting some extended family near Detroit Lakes and will probably get to ski one of the days while I'm up there.

Let's hear it for Detroit Mountain! (woot woot)
 
For sure. Here's a visualization of what it will look like that I found surfing the webs today. The park will have its own rope.

How big is it compared to afton?

I'm not sure about the vertical on it, but most likely that it's smaller than Afton by a long shot. Park will be pretty nice from the looks of it though. Only thing is that this place is tucked up near Fargo.
 
This is sick! I am so stoked!!! I live like 40 minutes from Detroit Lakes!

I am soooo unbelievably pumped for this. Dude we should shred together sometime when you go there!
 
What day are you guys going to be up there, I am heading there over Christmas break on the 26th and it would be awesome to meet up with some fellow NSers
 
I'm working on talking my parents into spending christmas with my mom's side of the family this year. Really hoping I can ride at least one day at DM.

I'll be there quite often over break. (I go to MSUM) If you see a guy in a black and green luft gear pullover or a yellow plaid jacket and sucks in the park, it's probably me.
