Denver Ski Rentals

I'm headed out to Denver over spring break and am considering renting skis instead of payig the extra baggage fee to bring my skis. Does anyone know of a place in the Denver area (near University of Denver) that rents decent twin tips?

Not as close to DU as old location, but worth it to go to a legit shop. Owner's name is Frank. Seriously, tell him the Huck and Splash guy Ted sent you. He'll probably cut you a deal. Pretty reasonable anyway, and they will not send you out on a pair of skis with a crappy tune. That's key.

Only other places nearer are Sports Authority and Christy's. Sorry but both suck IMO.

in my experience, airlines wont charge you extra if you stuff everything you have into your ski bag and use that as your only checked bag. ive done that with skis 4 times and golf clubs twice and its never cost me extra

some airlines consider ski bag + boot bag = 1 bag

either way this is a full proof plan, if you bring a ski bag, a boot bag, and one clothes bag say...

check the skis at the ticket counter. take your boots/clothes to the plane gate. check your clothes bag at the gate - "they wouldnt fit in the over head"

they dont charge you for checkin shit at the plane gate. then just take your boots on the plane.

breeze, christys, CO ski and golf, pioneer etc. all good shops. worked at every single one haha

YES. Go to Eskimo. Frank is awesome and a great guy. Eskimo is a small family-run shop that loves to support startup brands like SickSticks, small t-shirt companies, Purl wax, and all that good stuff. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THEREEEE
