Dendrite Studios Presents Parallels

Deffinatly at the top of my list of movies. I like movies like this a2034957302598 times better then the pbp films
 
This was their entry for the TWSSF Intersection competition from April. Everything was shot and edited within a week and shown during the festival along with the 5 other entries.

Sick stuff boys! We were blown away when we saw this for the first time - glad we could see it again!
 
ohh very cool! i'm really impressed that it was all one weeks worth of shooting, stoked to see what the whole year brings!
 
I thought this was a trailer. The fact that it isn't, is even sicker.

I can't beleive that was shot and edited in a week. Looking forward to more films like this.
 
Unfortunately we are not dropping a movie this fall because we cannot get enough funding. We did our first film for free and trying to edit a film while working 12-14 hour days at the "real job" to pay the bills during the summer led to sleeping maybe a few hours a night for months on end.
We really want to do another film and have amazing ideas, but that requires funding so we can raise our creative and technical level and actually get some sleep and get paid, even if its just a little.
 
ahhh fuck i thougt that was just a really long trailer for a movie. i was so stoked :(

but the video was truly amazing, epic music and epic skiing.
 
Amazing work Dendrite. I hope that winning lotto ticket falls in your hand soon so that all of us can enjoy more of your work.
 
Holy shit, so good. Thought that the park shots at the end were a little out of place, but still.. I enjoyed that a lot. Just so pleasing to watch!

Someone should be paying you guys to put movies out. Your movie last year was quality shit and had its own feel to it compared to the bigger production companies!
 
They had to have the park stuff in it. it was for a competition at TWSSF. the movie had to be filmed within a 100km on whistler, had to have atlease 30 seconds of film shot on whistler/blackcomb, 30 seconds of park, had to have skiers and snowboarders and had to be all shot in a week.

that is unfortunate! I would be more than happy to buy a film from Dendrite. looking forward to seeing future projects, hard to believe that was shot and edited in a week
 
What?? In your first year you guys have won an film award and now you cant get funding? What are those sponsors not seeing? You guys make fresh and creative movies, how many times was last years movie downloaded? Pff this is shitty news, I was so stoked for a new movie from you guys..

I hope sponsors will take their blinkers off and start supporting Dendrite!!
 
It's a travesty that you guys don't have the investment you need to spend the time and energy on putting out another film because I have no doubt it would be jaw dropping.

Massive bummer about you not putting out a film this year. Out of the Shadows was amazing.

What happens to the footy you shot this season?
 
So you are saying that anyone who makes a film with extremely amazing cinematography and not a lot of camera movement is copying life cycles?
 
Now I regret not giving you guys 100$ for "out from the shadows", a big shame you guys can't produce a movie this year, as your last movie was the best one out of the bunch.
 
I'm not sure what we are going to do with some of the footy from this year. We shot in January maintaining the hope that funding would come through, but then stopped and other small things came in the door.
We can get all the free gear in the world, but no one seems to actually want to make the jump from gear to a financial commitment. Lottery would only work if we actually played it. We certainly appreciate those who paid for Out of the Shadows. We released it for a pay what you want rate to hopefully generate more sales and discourage illegal downloading. We haven't really decided if that method was successful or not.
