Delaminating dollos

When you go to wax your skis for

the first time this year and realize that your edge stress fracture has your sidewall cracked in half all the way up to the top sheet, making it start to delaminate and lift off of the core………shit

anyone have good luck with epoxy or jbweld or wood glue on something like that?

everyone will say west systems gflex is the best epoxy. but ive never had good luck with glueing skis back together. they will open up again eventually.

I've had the same issue with my dollos, especially the sidewall crack. You can try and use glue, but depending on how well you clean the ski, press it with clamps, and let it set, your results may vary. Gluing is not a permanent fix, but allows for a little more life before the ski shits the bed. Another thing you can do is flip your skis around so the crack is on the outside edge. This will put less stress on the crack when you slide rails and carve.

Yeah I also tried to epoxy my 102 reckoners back together after I received new ones from warranty (thanks K2 for sending new skis an not have to send delaminated ones back) and they did not hold. Had them clamped together for 24h and opened up on the first day of skiing.

It seems to be hit or miss with epoxy and how good it sticks to both sides but safest option probaply is to use epoxy and some rivets.

Just jb welded my skis. I’ll get back to you in a week on how it holds up.
