Delam does not equal chipping

Sorry, but I have to rant a bit here...

After reading probably thousands of threads both here and on K2Factoryteam, I've realized that a lot of people don't know what delamination of a ski means. It seems like everyone thinks if your ski's topsheet is chipped some and you can see a bit of your core, that your skis have delamed. Not true, a delamination of your ski is when the layers of your ski comes apart. Like your entire topsheet tears away from the core, or your base seperates from your core.

wow thanks, but if people really needed that explanation to understand delamming, they shouldn't be on this site or the K2 fac site anyway

Very true. But I've seen it a bunch on both of these sites. ''my PEs are delaming, you should see all the chips on them'' Don't you think we should spread some sort of ACTUAL information on this site instead of constantly bashing each other?

I would like to add to that.... chipping really isn't a big deal in a lot of cases. As long as the core is intact and it's simply a superficial topsheet gouge then a little epoxy to seal it off is all that's needed.

Ha my new 06s cant delaminate casue they are ptex. But if they do, K2 will warnatee them. They must or else I will cast an evil spell on them!

Chips on the tip or tail are just that, CHIPS. And having a PTEX topsheet will not prevent a delam. Delams are when the layers of your ski, ie. the topsheet, the core and the base, coming apart from each other.
