Everyone is all concerned what a poser is or what makes someone a park rat.. etc.

ill simplify it all for you..

Park Rat: (english) Someone who can only ski well enough to ski into and out of an obstacle in a terrain park at a resort. They are struck with fear and anxiety when challenged with a mogul field or trails steeper than a green circle or blue square. variants poser, wimp, pussy, mr_dude.. [/i]Use in a sentence[/i] "That kid is nothing more than a park rat, what a pussy. I bet that poser cant even ski outerlimits.

agree or disagree

agree, and when asked why they don't ski anywhere else beside the park they reply "I can do all the other stuff but i would rather hit some jumps dood"

park rats drag their skis in the parking lot, yhave never skied in powder, prefer urban over all else, and are really gnarly looking.

someone who skis only park, when he goes for groomers, he falls and doesnt know what to do

agreed but when west coasters call east coasters park rats its stupid because theres not much else we can ski.

there are other places you can ski, like moguls and tree runs. it doesn't have to be all steeps and gnarly cliffs in order for you to not be a park rat

dude what about the midwest, powder is rare, so really all we got is park, but I go out to keystone and when Im there I rarely hit up the park, its all cat skiing and groomers for me there, because we dont have that stuff in MN. So does that make me a park rat?

excuses excuses, before I moved to Utah I lived in West Virginia. The hill there is pretty pathetic, but I still didn't spend all my time in the park. In fact I would only park ski at night, because that was the only worthwhile trail open at night. During the day I would try to ski bumps, chop, poach trees, whatever was available.

the park gets boring especially now where there isnt that much set up..

park rats sideslip down trails...

why do you worry about what others are saying about you when you're skiing? the reason skiing has evolved so much is because people have said fuck what everybody else is doing and fuck what they think about me.

ok, i am sorry, to rephrase:

someone who has the chance to ski awesome powder and doesnt.

shaun white is a park rat.

tanner was a park rat until two years ago.

i feel insulted when someone calls me a park rat ehemmm kiana

cus i am way better at skiing steep stuff than i am in the park,

i think that there is a balance of skill, on one side of the scale there is park and on the other side there is big mount./regular skiing, it just depends on which way the scale tips in your position

at my local mountain there are no trees and the only way to not get bored is to hit the park. I"M not a park rat i love the trees more than anyone else but most people that say being a park rat is a bad thing most of the time cant hit a rail or jump. I urban for the fun of it just as someone else might backcountry out with a snowmobile. Its not that we dont enjoy that its more that we cant get to that stuff with out taking a plain.

any1 who says that there is nothing else to do or is defending park rat.. well you're that park rat that i was describing.. you're that person.

You want east coasters skiing groomers so they arn't considered park rats? call me a park rat cause skiing groomers, bumps and whatever BS is available on the east coast is just boring. Park is the only thing unless you do get the chance to ski pow once in awhile. There is nothing wrong with being a park rat!

someone who does not kno the basics of skiing (turning, holding an edge, using poles, etc.) and simply speed checks through the park all day

i'm pretty sure a park rat is someone who just likes to ski park a lot. But really, anybody who says park rat is a bad thing is wrong. Who cares if the kid can't ski the rest of the mountain, maybe park is what got them into the sport, and that's all they care to do. Sure it's good to be an all around skier, but if you get bored with groomers, park is a good alternative. I'm pretty sure the people who sit and watch other people ski, and point out errors in turning form are in the sport for the wrong reasons. I mean that's the same as ripping on the kid who skis gates all day, but that's what he likes to do.

U dont see us park rats going and calling you boys big mountain sloth's do you? I say whatever you do so long as its on skis is just fine

park rat is someone who enjoys throwing a corked 7 double grab all day. nat, unnat, sw, and sw unnat.

haha props on the inclusion of mr_dude in the definition... he's a textbook cock..

i would say if someone sits in the park all day and throws down sw 7's - completely rips it up, but they only ski park, and arent really interested in the rest of the mounting, i would see them as a park rat - and i dont think it is necessarily a bad thing in that context..

2.Mouse that runs across trails in the park to distract other freeriders and people that have no business in the park.

By the way, a mouse once cut in front of me in the park. It was pretty funny.

wouldnt that make you a mogul masher, stupid, and a tree skier.

look at me i can label people too.

your saying skiing shitty bump out icy runs is more fun then park?

That's so true too! The only place on the mountain I ever see people with attitude problems is in the park.
