Deer Valley buys Solitude

Buck bought into BCC. Rumors were going around that Solitude was trying to sell. Guess it finally happened.

Fun fact of the day. .001% of this site cares about that.
 
I thought Brighton bought Solitude? But I will be pissed the fuck off if Deer Valley buys Solitude. They would turn empty, reasonably priced, humble Solitude, into a gaper-saturated, overly-priced cesspool.

Well your gona be pissed then because the buy out happened and got finalized about mid day today.
 
The article I read said Deer Valley takes over operations after the 14/15 season. It will be interesting to see what becomes of solitude.

Deer Valley is amazing...everything is groomed to perfection and there is powder to be found for days since most of the skiers there never really venture off the beaten path. Not to mention the village / hotels/ restauraunts are all top notch

Yeah, except for the outrageously priced tickets, hotels and restaurants and the overly douchy management that encourages staff and guests to judge others based on what clothes/gear they're wearing. I can't wait for when they start pushing to develop the land on and near the resort for condos and celebrity mansions. Even though that seems impossible, just wait, they'll still going to try to do it.

Solitude was empty all the time and had all the benefits you'd get at DV like untouched pow in the trees for days. This will do nothing positive for the mountain. Fuck Deer Valley.
 
KratzV What the fuck are you talking about? Deer valley might be the worst ski resort ive ever set foot on. And I live on the east coast. I dont go to solitude for this "groomed and upscale" shit. I go for the low crowds, and the great skiing. Something deer valley has the complete opposite of
