DEEP: The Future of Snow in America

Every time I see one of these videos it bothers me bc they never tell me what I can do to help, they always just give me bad news.

"pffft, it doesn't affect me directly as I can notice so why should I give a fuck?"

- The human race before the world dies.

spot on.

and i think humans should realize that it does affect them directly. from raising temperatures, to the foods they eat and the water they drink. it's hard to see but the biggest problem we have is that we notice these affects (like when we complain about how hot it is) yet we will still lock ourselves inside our house and blast the AC and watch tv all day.

it's hard to do but it's about finding a median between consumption and making sacrifices with how much we consume. J.P. Auclair has a great quote in All.I.Can where he says something along the lines of it's not about "just stopping doing what your doing and trying not to breath too much." the point is not to do less of what we are already doing, it's to find alternatives and in turn that will lead to a reduction in consumption.

that was damn depressing:/ fuck the industrial revolution. lets go back to making skis by hand and not giving a damn about the media! just go out and ski!

cigarettes beer and burnin your trash.

The industrial era is a spec of dust compared to how old the earth is. How can we as humans make the conclusion that we are the cause of the earth warming for such a small period of time? They talk about the earth starting to warm in 1975!!! That's less then 40 years, how can we come to all these conclusions from such a small period of time?I am not saying it isn't happening, I just don't think we can jump to conclusions either way.

seriously how old are you? do you keep up with the news? if you have read anything on climate change in the past 5 years you would know every answer to your questions.

Because scientists have data and methods that give them the rate of declining glaciers and snowpack and temperatures hundreds of years before 1975. So now they can do a comparison on the rates and there appears to be an exponential difference which is why they are looking at humans as the cause.
