Deca!

Im in DECA, im doing my internal assesment paper on Evo gear this year for the Market Research, should be nice and easy, but this is my second year of IB business and management, i love it, my Teacher is so cool, we do whatever the fuck we want
 
i did deca in gr. 12

our school's club did absolutely zero preparation, and every single one of us qualified to go to the big one in toronto. i just drank and blazed all weekend with deca as a temporary distraction, it was awesome. if you care about deca, don't listen to me, and if i was in gr. 9 doing it, i would have been scared shitless, but it's kind of a joke, so if you just don't worry about it, you'll do fine\

also, i love how the thread creator is asian sensation. got to deca and you'll see what i mean
 
yeah my school i guess is one of the best in the country, we sent 80 people to nationals and the next closest rival in our state sent 8 to nationals, so yeah, we have a lot to live up to
 
My brother was able to got the chance to go to the international one in Florida and he said he was a super amazing experience, traveling from Canada, and it really helped him in terms of finding what he enjoyed so i would highly recommend it for those trying to make up their mind.
 
its a business competion of sorts where, you are given a senario (if you do role play, there are several different compeitions you can do, but role play is the most common) and with that senario you have a certain amount of time to prepare ,in a quiet room and about 3-5 minutes later you have to present your ideas and answers to the judge who then grades you, and if your grade is good enough you go onto to state, and then if your really good you go to nationals. There is also an internal assesment in your business class itself where there are also a varity of topics to choose from. The two most common is business plan and market research. Business plan is where you come up with an idea for a business and you write a 30 page paper on how you plan to launch your business.

Market reasearch is much easier (for me atleast) its where you take an already exsisting company (im doing EVO gear this year) and you analyze them based on the topic that is assigned by the DECA boards last year it was advertisment, this year its training, and for this you also have to write a 30 page paper, which sounds like alot, but they go by fast, but last year i did my market research paper on a local ski shop and i qualified for state, but i didn't go, it was too much money. But this year im doing evo gear because i live about 30 or so minutes away from its headquarters and flagship store which is conviente, but yeah thats DECA in a nutshell, or atleast how we do it in washington
 
Our school has Deca, and so there is like the deca store, just a store with like candy chips and hundreds of types of arizona tea.
