Deathwish Vs Pb&j

So I wondering how these skis will compare and perform for my needs. I am 5'11 140lb. I ski at Kay peak in Vermont. I want a ski with excellent float in powder but also needs to be super stable on ice, groomers, and good for east coals glades. I will not be using these skis for park. What are your guys thoughts?

I just got a pair of PB&J's. Im 5'11 190 lbs. Got the 183's. I have yet to ski on them yet, as my bindings are being fitted as I speak, but the construction of these skis is fuckin top notch. You can tell by looking over em that they are durable, very well made skis made by people who care. Plus, Moment has, imo, the best graffics in the ski industry.

Honestly, either or would probably suit your needs. Both would be a great one ski quiver. The deathwish is def wider underfoot.

That is not easy to achieve..

I would say go for the Deathwish. The PB&J is more an all mountain ski that you could take into the park.. But you want excellent float in powder and shred the hardpack (+ice), the Dirty Mustache Rocker will give you tons of grip, rocker and wide platform for powder, great ski for your needs.

Blister did some extensive reviewing on the Deathwish..

Bump ok not sure i could handle the width I the death wish. I've never skied anything over 90 mm waist before so would the transition be hard? Also how does that weird profile actually perform

no its like riding a new bike, you get use to it. the ski handles like nothing else. it is somthing you will not understand till you ski it then once you ski it you wont go back

Ya, id say go deathwish. I own the PBJ, and its amazing for when it hasnt snowed in a while, but they are not nearly as good in pow or mank as a fat ski. The deathwish is 1cm fatter and thats normally not that significant for pow, but i find the {95mm to 105mm} and {105mm to 115mm} width changes to translate more dramatically in flotation changes than say {115mm to 125mm}or {125mm to 135mm}. Although it all depends on weight i guess. The deathwish is also softer and a little snappier, for more forgiving and fun off piste maneuverability.

The Deathwish would be a better one ski quiver for a mountain averaging 350" of snow. And if your afraid of the width change coming for a 90mm ski, dont be. You will get used to it, and then you will likely prefer it, like most other all mountain skiers in 30 foot snowfall regions. It will revolutionize your skiing, and youll love them on powder days.

You could also go on3p jeffrey. I never see those for sale used. That translates, to me, as people who own them love them.

I would also take the Deathwish over the PB&J for those specifications. It will obviously float a lot better in powder, and you are not sacrificing performance if you do not plan on skiing park. The only issue with the Deathwish is that it will probably be more difficult in the bumps because it is a good amount fatter. I would also take a look at the Blizzard Peacemaker, which is a little skinnier but is still floaty in pow.
