Death at Meadows Today

45 year old skier form portland got hit in the head (possibly by a snowboarder) and died at the scene at the top of north canyon about 150 yds. from the top of the lift. plenty of other coverage on the local news sites if you wanna check it out.

the fucked up part is that the person who hit him kept on going and they cant find him.

i was the fourth person on the scene, before ski patrol got there. helped take his skis off, he was unconscious the whole time, apparently dead.

depressing shit, wear your helmets children
 
i heard about this thats so horrible. and so fucked up that the person who hit him just took off that really pisses me off! and kudos for helping him

and if anyone has any information they should not hold iit in... so fucked up.
 
yeah its a sad deal... i get sick when i think about people dying at the mountain...

I was at bachelor a few years back when some guy hit an ice chunk on the cone and ruptured his spleen, killing him. It was just erie cause i went right by him, asked him if he was ok, he was like oh yeah im chill, then ended up just dying on the life flight to bend.
 
ya one time like 2 years ago at bachelor a kid just landed backseat hitting his head and died... its scary that it happens so easily.
 
its sad that a guy that (im guessing) barely goes up and hardly takes any risks dies like that and his family has to live with it.
 
man i was riding up the face when the guy came hauling ass down and crashed and blew up and died....... that was like 4 years ago... at nite... god that was horriable... like his arm came off
 
yeah... i think you were on the chair matty .... like everybody was like at first laughin gat him then later when we saw the guys with the blood filled buckets.. we knew he was dead
