I know close to nothing about park, I've spent 3 days in the park in my whole life, and that has been in the past week. My only skis are my One Lifes, which are big mountain sticks. The people he listed are legends, because they've done a lot to our sport, in all aspects and disciplines.

I saved up for my own car with 110% my own cash. Buy everything with my money. Don't see the hype of Jibberish or Saga. I wear fitted clothes. Yet, I'm still here. And I have been here for the past 5 years.

You're making it sound like NS is for park kids...It's not.

 
I like all the kids in high school in this thread defending themselves. unless you're a douchenoggin and being an all around fucktard, then you have no need to defend yourself. Nobody gives a shit about you anyway.
I agree with Dhane, although the generalization of high schoolers being the only fucktards was ill conceived at best. But he has a point... All you fucking trendy 12 year old kids (ooh look, another generalization!) with your 12x tall tees down to your goddamn ankles acting like you're better than everyone, get the fuck out. This isn't to say all you kids with your tall tees and pants around your ankles are bad people, as you all assume he is saying... cause everything posted on NS is a personal callout to you. Yes you, person sitting at a computer. Just keep your shitty attitudes at home and be stoked to be skiing like the rest of the world.
 
Im a highschooler and at first i was mad but then i realized that ur right about the atitude thing. There are so many ritch spoiled kids who think they are real steezy cuz they can wear expensive things that hang down to their knees

im not even gonna lie, i was the biggest asshole too random people ever this winter break. and im not even gonna do a self pity rant, but there was a reason for my deuschiness
 
yes, i was talking about mtn creek, i realize that based on my home hill where an entire state rides one mountain may have been too broad of a generalization. things get out of hand there, and im glad someone from my home turf realizes it. it got bad this last week, 54, 000 people riding on mountain of 1,100 vert. so, my apologies to those who got angry.

anyway, after finishing up this break, i concluded some research. there are two types of "highschoolers". there are your locals, they ride every day after school, rip it, know the deal and realize that respect gets respect. i rarely see them since i leave by 4. butttt, they understand the way things work, they're cool, and are a valuable and awesome vibe to the mountain.
however, there are the what i like to call "winter break warriors". these kids are glorified weekend warriors who get the chance to ride every day in the sunlight and think they're hot stuff. they go around snaking, cusring, yelling, and just making assholes out of themselves. sadly,more often than not, they are wearing the trendiest of the trendy clothes, and are always trying to weasel rides out of anyone so their moms dont have to carpool.

oh shit dhane, shit got heated quickly, and the pictures they posted of u, r ill so they can gtfo.....and yeah its the weekend warrior kids who piss me off, i remember back in 04 when it was just a few of us riding having a good time, awesome vibes and shit, now that we r older i can agree with u about this little cocky trendwhores at the mountain, it makes me laugh...on a good note, i think i will be arriving up at creek at opening at 12, and skiing till 3 because then i have work at 4, i will see u there or i will see u another time
 
i am in the same boat as him. i dont own sagging gear, i wont pay outrageous prices for ugly shit like jibberish, and i hardly even go in the park. but i hang out here instead of TGR....? uh oh

Also, I read one of OP's later posts and am retracting the earlier "Go fuck yourself" I dished out.
However, I only ski 4 out of 7 days of the week and the rest I spend in the city going to school. So, I am a weekend warrior and proud of it. Only the asshole rich kids who think that looking good = skiing good pull the shit you've talked about. So really this thread should be titled "Dearest asshole rich kids who think looking good gives you the ability to ski like a proo."
 
i dont think having a bad experience with , maybe a couple of teenagers has given you the right to make a huge assumption on "highschoolers".... Hattezz gun hate. but seriously.

Just wait (if you're not in it yet) for grade 12. I found that once you get to grade 12, all that attitude and drama shit go away cause people realize that they're 18 and need to smarten the fuck up. Unless you're some skanky bitch.

So so happy I'm done with high school.
 
yeah that's the thing. it's hard to do, but you just have to realize that when people hit their mid 20s they look back on how goofy they were as teens and feel pretty stupid about it. just a part of growing up. teens have a natural desire to be rebelious and speak out. fight the system, anarchy, rawrrr im cool, need to get laid, image is everything, etc etc. nothing anybody says or does is going to change that.

Highschoolers (every single one of them and no one else) pay for none of their stuff, get free rides and fuck up every one of your damn days (payed for by you alone; all all your stuff by you alone). It happens to me as well, I pay for all of my stuff and don't accept gifts of any kind from any one. I became completely independent at age ten. I know what you mean. But hey: you're skiing. So chill the fuck out.
 
there are trend whores and annoying people in every age group of any sport/group of people. would say that there really arent that many of these people but they annoy me too and i am in highschool. not everyone is like that
 
my parents own a minivan and we drive up to the mountain every weekend, so what? i get a ride from my parents because they ski as well. does this mean i have attitude problems, or im a dick to everyone i see, no it does not. i own a few pieces of jiberish because i worked for it, but its for school/causal wear. does this mean i have attitude problems, no it does not. ive got trendy gear like full tilts, fks, moment skis, and an oakley suit. does this mean ive got attitude problems, not it does not.

at my mountain, i know all the skiers. i pretty much ski with all of them. its super chill, everyone is giving each other tips and learning new stuff from each other. even the snowboarders are super chill. we are out there to have fun and ski like we all like to do. just because a person is in highschool, doesnt mean they are obnoxious.

OP, your argument for the most part is invalid. if you arent out on the mountain having fun, then you shouldnt be out there if you are going to be a dick.
 
Fact: Alot of highschoolers think they own the park, and with kids throwing dubs younger and younger only fuels their ego, but some are nice and although they may seem annoying i'm sure people in mid 20's out of college find college kids annoying at times too. Circle of life means you hate those that are younger than you.

also, I saw a kid that was probably 9 or 10 that had a NS sticker on his helmet. I was feeling friendly so I skied over to him and was like, "hey, you on NS?". He then proceeds to look me up and down like I'm the biggest faggot he has ever seen and says "What are you talking about?" and skis away with his toddler friends.
 
this happens to me and my buddies all the time, granted they snowboard, but they peruse NS on occasion. Saw some kids in the park, said "hey, you guys on NS?" kids straight ignored us and pretended like they didn't hear us. Really, now? It's fuckers like them that give the rest of everyone a bad name. HIGHSCHOOLERS SUCK LOLOL.
