You may have heard this a million times and you may hate on the idea but why can't NS be more of a combined community of skiing/snowboarding. I am perfectly fine watching video and hearing news and talking about skiing and i actually prefer some aspects of skiing over snowboarding. but What is the real problem of having a little more news or polls or discussions about snowboarding. We ALL Know Yobeat sucks really bad!!!! and NS has a sick environment going so why can't we just combine with the skiers why is there all the hate on this topic? What is the big deal?
 
It's a skiing website, period.

I come here for skiing news, skiing videos, skiing pictures, not snowboarding. There is no reason and dare I say want or need for there to be any huge snowboarding showing on NS. There are cult forums for snowboarders, board edits and mixed edits show up from time to time as well as pictures, what more do you want from a skiing website?

There's your chance though. Create a replica or mirror of NS for snowboarders and you might have a success in your hands.
 
i completely agree. it's cool when there is snowboarding in edits posted on NS, but that's about as much of it as i want to see. if i wanted to see snowboarding edits, i would not come to a skiing website.

ps- i love everything you post.
 
Im not trying to make people mad Im just asking what the big deal is but i totally get where you are coming from but why can't we get anything on here even something small would be cool like a news tab or anything? it doesn't sound that bad at all for anyone
 
that sounds like a pretty good idea. maybe ill go on over and check yobeat out a bit to see how bad it really is :p
 
there's a hell of a lot more snowboarders than there are skiers (at least in the group ns appeals to)

More than enough to create a popular site/forum for you all.

Skiers lucked out. We pretty much just have ns and tgr, and somehow that covers everything.
 
again, its a skiing site, based around newschool/freestyle skiing. not that i mind snowboarding, but i dont want to go to the front page and see an article about shawn white or travis rice. i, like most members, want to see stuff that interests me, and that is skiing
 
i dont want to come here and filter out the snowboarding stuff that i have no interest in.

theres really not much point to add it, the only people it would benefit are the snowboarders who want to have a website as cool as newschoolers. maybe ns for revenue, but i dont think thats a real incentive

i guess adding a small snowboarding forum wouldnt hurt, so long as it was aside - like regionals
 
I could see adding a snowboard forum would mean we'd end up seeing snowboard stuff all over the site, kind of like when people kept posting videos in ski gabber instead of the video section.
