must say..... kinda true.....
Although my completely bias opinion is that freeskiing is wayyyyyyy cooler

it wicked hard to do the tricks in rollerblading with both hands at the side and perfect grabs all the time. you dont have any of the stability that you get from having 6 ft boards under your feet, so teh rotations are harder to keep constant and the grinds require more balance. compare a guy on a slack line to a guy walking a tight rope with a huge balance bar.

The footage is really old so thats why they have bad style.

Rollerblading has actually progressed to the point that doing techinical tricks whith good style outweighs doing big spins and flips

the second vid was actually pretty cool.

the thing about blading is i just don't like the style. how it looks just bugs me

yea montre is a fucking boss. i filmed with him at woodward two years ago and it was a great experience. he's mad friendly and fun to work with.
in fact, i have a picture to remember that time:

/claim.
but yea if you just don't like rollerblading then i understand.

umm if a company made this, they better find a new editor..

and willstart nice vids. what i was sort of referring to is the way it seems the mass of bladers care more about tons of tricks rather than making simpler ones look good (though unfortunately the same could be said about skiers sometimes), plus that hands in the air style

It is sad to me that instead of defending skiing by pointing the fact that it has been around for generations and fruit booting is new, you try to point out stylie rollerblading. Who cares if that guy can do twelve switchups on wheelie shoes, real gangsters don't wear rollerblades. What you should be saying in response to that video is that Snowboarding is just biting skateboarding and skateboarding started by biting surfing and before anyone snowboarded all the surfers skied, we are the OG shit. Trying to prove that rollerblading can be cool just proves the point of the top video. Not saying that the X games is the pinnacle of progression but why did rollerblading get dumped like the other illustrious spots of snow mountain biking, street luge and super modified shovel racing.

yea i see what you mean. i think most rollerbladers just don't give a fuck, yknow? but that hands in the air thing is just your own preference. Frankly, i don't think it's really possible not to do. rollerblades are so hard to balance on that using your arms for balance is crucial.
Plus, skateboarders often have their hands up in a pretty retarded way. especially that limp wrist steeze that i see so many kids rocking these days. and trust me, i used to skateboard and still love/have nothing but respect for skateboarding, but i'm just saying that if you look at it objectively, they look kinda funny too sometimes.

Its funny that there is so much hate for what is different that goes on in action sports. I mean really... are you so self-conscious about your identity as an individual that you have to go out of your way to make fun of someone who chooses to ride inline skates?

I actually really like inline skating... I don't really do it, but at least those guys are extremely friendly and inclusive.

They don't play the "I'm so much cooler than you are game" because everyone hates them so much.

...real gangsters don't ski either, and yet you see us all out there in our 4xl tall tees.
who cares if anybody can do a pretzel on skis?
my point is that you're being biased. when you look at it objectively, both skiing and rollerblading are kinda silly. In one sport, you're riding around on 'wheelie shoes' doing tricks. In the other, you're sliding down a hill on two planks...doing tricks. they're both just bizarre sports that we like to do for fun, so what's the point of getting bent out of shape about which one is cool and which one isn't.
i also don't get how me posting stylie blading videos proves the point of the top video. i happen to rollerblade, and i happen to ski. they aren't related.

i dont get this whole thing comparing freestyle skiing to ''freestyle rollerblading''

and same for snowboarding compared to skateboarding

as if everything had to be copied from something else , or if it is as if it would be bad

skiing existed way before rollerblading

so should we do a video of classic skiing and classis rollerblading saying that rollerblading copied skiing?

I love blading, but it hurts so so so so so so so much, and instead of getting onto a rail off center with your 180 cm planks and adjusting your balance, you have about an inch and a half of space that you have to get perfectly on the rail or your done.

Blading=soooo much harder than skiing.

That say word edit completely changed my mind about rollerblading, that dude is so stylish and is fucking insane, he throws himself off some huge drops
plus he is g as shit

yea dude same here. first thing i told him when i met him was that that edit made me start skating, he was stoked.

but, intead of wheeled one foot long shoes, we have six foot planks attatched to our feet that we can actually incorporate into our maneuvers quite easily and creatively. Kind of similar though.

mmmmmmmm montre is a god fo sho.

A snowboarder friend of mine posted this on fb as some sort of supposed joke. I just thought it was cool, took it as a comliment. Blading is all about style and control. A lot of those clips are very old and if you can't find ski tricks from 5-10 years ago that look equally bad then you could look harder. I still don't care cos I love blading.
