ftw

my opinion: finally the electro music like that is getting out there in the mainstream. props to mr.zimmerman

yeah seriously. happens to every genre of music that explodes, look at the decline in the quality of rap since the 90's. soon everyone and their mom are gonna be listening to deadmau5 and other popular artists, lets just hope the music keeps progressing.

bad. every man and his dog will want to side-chain their songs and the likes of deadmau5 and MSTRKRFT wont be as unique within an already somewhat homogeneous industry.

see what popular rap turned into? who wants popular electronic to turn into that? kids in my school are already like "OMG Sam Adams made a dubstep track LOLOLOLOL IT R SO GEWD."

this is going to be bad, i was listening to this a maddd long time ago and a couple of people from my school were calling it retarded n shit. now there gunna b liek OMG DAT IZ AWSHIM.

hes becoming a celebrity DJ. And its kind of sad that its taken this long for him to get to this level. Hes been doing this shit for almost 20 years. In my opinion he deserves the attention. Hes payed his timely dues and now hes reaping the rewards

joel is selling out imo. love his stuff but hes SO BIG now.

personally though, i think its sick and i hope more people try to create similar music to his. he is very innovative and people should try his genre.

As much as I feel like the hipster cat, I believe 100% that as house/electro/etc. become more popular, it will get way really shitty and everyone will think they're the shit cuz they think their music is "different" and "new". people at my school are already starting to listen to some electro/house and deadmau5,bassnectar,etc. and think they're so damn cool. It pisses me off.

Sorry for the rant, but as "techno" becomes more popular, it will die.

So you do not want musicians who deserve to be popularly recognized to gain recognition because you feel that you have some sort of entitlement to having them all to yourself?

god damnit the amount of dumb in this thread is astonishing:

Joel is a producer, not a DJ. He makes his own stuff. DJ's mash and mix others peoples songs.

He makes progressive house.

He is very innovative, he's a great producer and I look up to his work. I wish my stuff would sound half as good as his.

He puts in a ton of work into what he does and knows his shit, he's a smart guy and deserves recognition for it (even though he's a /b/tard lolol)

Wait... who in the fuck was that chick that looked like a man dry humping the pole over a Deadmau5 song just now.......

Let them listen to the mainstream. While we listen to the actual good stuff. Theres so many awesome producers out there that the casual listener is not going to find. Thats what separates us from them. So while they are claim Tiesto, Bassnectar, and David Guetta are the best in the buisness, well just laugh when we ask them what they think of Crookers

Yeah, I understand both sides of the argument.

and yes, I do feel some sort of entitlement to the music.

fuck the posers

I actually just pulled that one on this kid at my school. He said that zombie nation, Erol Alkan, soulwax, etc. were "posers that don't sound as good as deadmau5" (pronounced it dead-mauh-five). The horrible thing is, atleast 10 kids in my study hall agreed with him, and pronounced it wrong. I got lol mad

There is already shitty fucking techno/trance/house/dubstep...Some people are good at it some are complete shit...the good stuff will get the recognition it deserves and who gives a fuck if 1000 other people are claiming a song like Ghosts n Stuff as some "new sick fuckin song"...Some people only like the music that is on the radio and that sucks for them but why let it bother you?

I think it's a good thing...the day I hear a dubstep song on the radio I will be so happy...I was amazed when I heard Mike Posner on the radio.

Fuckin' hipster.

And also...I don't know maybe I like to see artists/music I actually enjoy getting recognition it deserves besides some new fucking Usher song...or some terrible Kesha bullshit.

uhh that was a legitimate question. i didnt see your logic behind it, fucking dick. so ill ask again, why? try and respond maturely this time.

sorry, prematurely commented. ok i guess thats fair enough. would you really want a song you have that no one knows about being raped on the radio, and put in the class of mainstream? i doubt it.

The quality of the song doesn't change. If the artist starts producing bad tracks, then it sucks that they let newfound fame get to their head, but as long as what they make is still good, what the hell is wrong with someone getting the recognition and benefits that they deserve?

THIS IS WHAT YOUR PRECIOUS ELECTRO WILL TURN INTO IF IT GETS POPULAR. CASE AND POINT: EUROPE.
Caramelldansen: Dubstep remix will be top 'o' the charts.

And yes, I highly enjoy this music.
Welcome to my guilty pleasure. Inb4 gay, fag, faggot, dad I am homosex etc.

bahahahaha. they couldnt recognize a banger if it slapped them in the ears.

I should throw something in about my last statement though. when remixed, David Guettas songs are pretty good. example: Afrojacks remix of Sexy Bitch. but I guess that still doesnt give any credit to him....

i never said there is something wrong with them getting recognition for their work. and your first sentence is somewhat false. dont tell me you havnt heard of an artist that got progressively worse as they entered the mainstream scene due to persuasion by their label to fit the mainstream sound.

I like "cooler than me" by Mike Posner and that is pretty mainstream so I am going to say yes...yes I would like that to happen because once again...I would like to see the people whose music I listen to get some sort of recognition for their hard work.
