The Greatful Dead and John Mayer are going on tour this summer as Dead and Company. Heard them on the Tonight Show and I am definitely digging it. What do you guys think of this combination?

saw em twice over the fall. its fine, I personally enjoy further over dead and co. His voice bothers a lot of people, i dont care for it but it doesn't really matter to me. still sounds great

dark star> daughters> other one> your body is a wonderland> china doll

If tickets for the 2 nights at fenway show up on stub hub for cheap I will probably go, but not something I'm really dying to see. Listened to a bit of the fall tour and they play everything so god dam slow even compared to the other post jerry groups, I just can't get into it

I honestly didn't like furthur that much. I thought the dead and co sjow were great. Te Wrocester one was heating up.

Dude can play. If you get a chance go and see them OP. 100% worth it. I don't think i'm going to make any summer shows as I'll be out of the country, but if I were around I would probably hit a good chunk.

It was awesome watching him crush it and silence the haters. Sure, he plays cookie cutter pop music generally, but the guys is extremely talented. One of the best guitarists out there.

Go to a show, bring your friends, be safe, and have fun!

Listen to this part of Sugaree from the Worcester show. This was only a few shows into the tour. They meshed great together, the energy was unreal. Seriously, do yourself a favor and get to a show OP. It will be a worthwhile experience.

That's insane to me. but your right about him being a phenomenal guitar player, i just dont want to hear him fuck with the vocals so much in that john mayer way. that worcester show you mentioned i remember vividly him singing dire wolf and he added that john mayer whiney twang in "In the timbers to fennario" like right off the bat. dang. i can nitpick cant i? either way id rather listen to john mayer than trey (sorry not sorry) /end

Idk, I like seeing the OG's together, but if there's a spot open, I'd rather have it be somebody doing their own thing. Obviously meshing with what's happening but if I want to see a dead cover band I'll go see DSO or something. Just my opinion.

I thought he killed it. Would definitely go see them again.
