Omg think of how many endangered species went extinct from the snowmobile at a ski resort!

i guess the snowmobiles that keystones snowmaking crew uses 9 months/yr must have a muffler that injects vagina juice into the fumes, making the noise sound much better to the animals and the exhaust smell like 100% pure hippy queefs.

obviously lesh didnt have this special muffler on his snowmobile so now all species living at keystone are officially extinct.

thats why they call important animals in an ecosystem, “keystone species”.

mother nature is now officially cancelled.

I really don't like the guy or his fanboys but honestly kinda of a bummer. I can't say he doesn't deserve it, and he's a giant bro douche but hitting closed jumps at a Vail ski resort I'm pretty okay with.

The snowmobile thing, i forget how much snow there was, maybe not cool but also probably not a big deal.

I'm torn on this. He's obnoxious and annoying and i don't want to hear from him again, but i feel like they went a little far with what they threw the book at him for. He was pretty much asking for it, but even then, i somehow feel like he got boned.

The hanging lake thing was pretty shot though. Literally just did that to make a scene and the pretended it was a photoshop. I think that hike went permit only a few years back because of issues, mostly with trash and graffiti but they had been trying to stop douchers from swimming and posing on the log.

I hate his bro version of trolling to get attention but idk. I'm pretty torn on this. It feels weird to say that honestly.

Interesting precedent they're setting: "The judge determined Lesh’s social media campaign with photos on or pretending to be on public lands constituted a commercial venture."

Sounds like a law they enforce only when they're out of other options to charge someone with. A law that's rarely enforced.

But regardless, not losing sleep. Guy seems like a douche after browsing his insta.
 
Lesh is a douche but a necessary douche, im glad he exists and is doing what he does. Shit that has zero impact other than rustling a bunch of karens jimmies. You need a force countering the high pitched unreasonable screaming of environmentalist's that think any foot going off trail in OUR public land should get you hung. and the more extreme their screeching the more of a douche you need taking it to the extremes like he does to counter it.

I bet any decent lawyer could have a field day with that. The court would have to prove he monetized the account or financially benefitted from it. I mean, any photographer wanting to take pictures of a National Park could get hit by this.

Update: Nevermind I read the article and David literally bragged to a newspaper that he was doing it to promote Virtika. Its a shitty precedent but they probably have a case.
 
It appears David Lesh approached his charges using the "Donald Trump" strategy which is to commit violations in a manner where they would be broadly viewed by the public and in turn deny the violations took place through creative means, like submitting a photoshopped image to the courts, for example. Lesh's defense team was most likely hoping this would muddy the waters of reasonable doubt and would either result in a dismissal or reduction of charges.

The issue with this legal strategy is two part; 1. You have to be wealthy for the prolonged legal battles and 2. The President of the United States in order to claim executive privilege to keep critical evidence out of the court's hands. Without these tools at his disposal, Lesh's defense predictably fell apart and resulted in the convictions detailed in this online newspaper. Lesh still has the opportunity to appeal these convictions, however with his pattern of being a disrespectful asshole that's a critical component with the "Donald Trump" legal strategy, it is highly unlikely a court will take this up unless there were clear, irrefutable violations of Lesh's civil rights.

Being only misdemeanors, its completely possible Lesh saw this as a tradeoff with free advertising for his awesome outerwear company and the legal consequences of his actions. But as a lawyer, I cannot speak to his state of mind at the time of these violations.

they were only mad at lesh because they wanted him to spacedock them while they jerked themselves off instead of him dropping his load into the lake.

i dont want anything bad to happen to our native species in the rockies. But this “zomg lesh iz raping mother nature!!!” bullshit is more about “omg this land belongs to us ppl in the US guberment, and how dare dave lesh disobey us on our own land, doesnt he know that we are in the US guberment and we own him?”

You could let ppl build houses and shit all over us forest lands in the rockies and the wildlife would probably be happier than it is being “protected” by a bunch of authoritarian dicklickers in the us guberment who eat shit for a living.
