yea so Dashboard won an award. I really don't know if I should be happy about this or not. like yea I am glad they beat all those other bands cuz they are amazing.... but then on the other hand... is this new popularity a good thing for emo? I don't think so. fuck at their show in Toronto they appologized for their song being on the radio before they played it... saying that they had no choice in it... it was their record lables doing - not theirs.... and then when he got the award he was like - well I don't make videos... so yea.... I don't know. I really have no point... just that this seems really strainge... like you can't possibly say that they are selling out when this cd is like exactly the same as their old one and just now it is getting radio play and winning awards and shit... meh. and that's my story.

dude we're on the same wave length. ive loved dashboard since 'swiss army romance' cd with just chris and his guitar. now he's got the band and they're on tv and shit . half of me is happy and shit, and half of me is like, whoa whats happening

that is exactly the way i felt about DC when i saw them win!!! i was like 'hooray, boo' cuz i love DC but i hate pop culture and mtv.

yeah i agree. personally i think he should drop the band, his songs are alot different and personal with just the guitar (if that makes any sense at all) i guess what im tryin to say is that with the band its more of a sing along song, rather than a story, lesson, etc

yea, i think his music sounds a lot better when its just him and his guitar. i dont think there is anything wrong with him winning an award, he doesnt seem like the type to sell out, but its not like i really know him.

 
i would absolutely agree, i love Dashboard Confessional and he is really talented, when its just his music and him playing its a lot more personal and i really like that, i actually do like the songs with the band but Dashboard Confessional to me is just the one guy, his acoustic guitar, and his music, and i agree that he deserves praise but not that big becuz being awarded by MTV goes against everything Dashboard is supposed to be, i dont want a whole bunch of stupid little girls and boys who watch MTV to be wearing Dashboard Confessional shirts, thats not what its about, its about the music and i will always be be a long time fan of Dashboard Confessional
