Does anyone here go to Dartmouth or Middlebury? I am applying to both schools this year. Hopefully I can get into dartmouth...

theyre really good schools. and hard to get into. i'm not applying to either. but i have the middlebury application. i want to go to uvm.

I live in the town south of Middlebury...a very nice place. If both my parents hadn't gone there, and if I didn't live so close, I would defidentally apply.

Have a nice day everyone. :)

There's not really too much in terms of public transportation, but at Middlebury College basically everyone goes to the Middlebury Snow Bowl since well, the college owns it and they can get in free. On case you don't know, it's a really small mountain, but it has a nice homely feel to it.

There might be a shuttle from the college itself, but I'm not aware of it. But since so many go up there, it'd be really easy to get a ride from a fellow student.

Killington is about 1:15 south, and Sugarbush is about 30 - 45 minutes over the gap. I'm not sure how often those are frequented though by students.

I'll ask around about a shuttle and get back to you though. I'd be surprised if there wasn't.

Have a nice day everyone. :)

^yea, I know. Hopefully i can be part of the class of '10. How accessible are the mountains from dartmouth? Do you need to find people to drive? Is it hard finding people willing to drive?

i'm applying to uvm early action for Nov. 1st. im so fucked. i haven't done anything. bates/bowdoin are also on my apply-to list.

i wrote one about 20 minutes ago. finishing that by tomorrow. getting my recommendation from my guidance counlelor the next day. it didn't say in the VIP bullshit package that i needed teacher recs., but i think i have two on the way, but i still need to get them envelopes. mail better ship quick. if not, ima package bomb the us mail.

haha. I finished the vip app for uvm like a month ago. My school still hasn't sent out their part...recomendations, school report.

its an application that UVM sent out to some people...I think it is based on psat scores. Basically, the application is free. its non-binding. they give out a decision 3 weeks after everything is recieved. its due nov. 1

if i get this shit in in time, i find out 21 days from nov. 1st.

that's november 22. those idiots always fuck up calendars so its probably after thanksgiving. which means if i get in, im not doing shit. its my safety. i love doing shit. i'm gonna stop talking.

the good mountains are all relatively close, about an hour. The ski way is 10 minutes and a bus takes you up to it. I heard it's not too great but you can get a free seasons pass if you take it as a PE credit. It snowed here today... and Dartmouth has some nice rails.

I'm in the process of applying the Dartmouth and Middlebury right now. Also in the New England area im applying to Williams. My grades and SATs are pretty good, plus i know the track coaches at each school and they want me on the team. Soo I hope i get into at least one of them. All regular decision though.

My oldest sister is a huge ski bum and she goes to Middlebury. She loves it up there! I'd def. recommend it, but yeah it's hard to get into. She was number 1 in her class though, so not so much of a problem for her. Good luck though

yeah my bro goes to middlebury and i just came back from visiting today. such a sick school. but as said before the snow bowl is mad close and the season pass is like 100 dollars but sugarbush is like 45 away and season pass is 300, some good options and its dope school for sure

yeah, it's really hard to get into though, my sister got into schools such as Yale, and picked Middlebury. you can't go there unless you have some crazy acedemic skills and i don't mean a's and b's, i mean almost all a's.

i went to middlebury for a short time... then dropped out and now go to cu-boulder. the public transportation from midd to the mountains is more or less non-existent...you can take the greyhound bus to rutland and then take another bus from rutland to killington. so, have a car or know people with cars. dartmouth is closer to skiing that midd. but midd is closer to more mountains than dartmouth is.

nice. I am pretty sure i can get into middlebury. I am really hoping for dartmouth. if those two dont work out...there is always boston.

right now, i'm waiting for a uvm decision, but since i'm completely lost, i might take a year off...

has anyone done that here?

i slept over at middlebury this weekend. Even though it was a thursday night, I had a great time and the campus is amazing. Great great school

dartmouth is a mad good school same for middlebury

i applied early decision to williams. i hope i get in i had good sat scores and got 700s for my subject tests....we will see.

i go to colby, its awesome. there's a ton of freeskier's here and the season pass for sugarloaf/sunday river is 369 (also includes snow, killy/pico, attitash). We're starting a freeride club here so we basically are gonna get school money to go skiing and build jumps. theres a ton of urban and a sick kicker spot less than a minute down the road. if you want to do an overnight this winter and check out the scene we have a pullout couch in my room.

anyone at plymouth state, im gonna apply i just wanted to hear some good or bad feedback on it

I grew up in NH, I left and moved to CO, no im not attending school! It's the best decision I ever made!!!!

School's for fools!
