Dark Grey or Fire Irid?

Ive got dark greys in my c bars and they are sick. you can deal with them in clouds too, or at least I had too when i was too poor for new lenses.

With experience using both, Dark Gray is a much better option then a Fire Iridium. Cheaper, better lighting, and just looks all around more clean. Go with the Dark Gray

Dark grey is a great all round lens and I prefer the look of it to fire (i have both):

i have both. both look sick so i would take looks out but they both seem pretty similar to me. considering fire is like $30 more i would get dark grey

I get people love the look of Dark Grey, but Fire is actually a higher quality lens as are all iridiums for bright days. They cost more for a reason.

yeah fire is a much better sunny lens if you're fortunate enough to have multiple pairs of lenses/goggles, but if you're only going to have 1 go with the dark grey because it's pretty good for everything.

Having owned and used both for years I think the dark grey lense is the better choice. The fire iridium is so dark that as soon as the sun starts to set you can no longer see detail in the terrain. I haven't touched my fire lens since I got my greys.

Double post but you gotta love the low-profile look, might as well whore out my setup like everyone else

dark grey has a VLT of 17%, but no anti-glare coating

fire iridium has a VLT of 16% and has an anti-glare coating.

the facts say fire iridium is better than dark grey for sunny days. what looks better is a completely different question.

Light grey is super nice for low lighting conditions. It tints everything orange and brings out shadows real well. Would be Meh for night riding though. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

And for the OP, dark grey looks way better an is all around better if lighting conditions become low, but fire irid will perform better in super bright conditions.

You'd be surprised, well in my experience I've used it on horrible days where all my friends are complaining about not being able to see and been doing all right. Dunno, works for me.

No, because I actually have the lens. It is rubbish in flat and low light. Compared to my other lens, HI Persimmon, I can't see shit with the Dark Grey when it isn't sunny.

I have the lens as well but I must say it isn't really THAT bad. Of course its not ideal but its nothing that would make you go more than 10 minutes out of the way to go back home and switch lenses. It's tolerable in the dark.

For those saying the Dark Grey is a good all round lense, I guess it depends where you live. Im from whistler and we barley ever get the right weather to use the dark grey. Unless its bluebird the Dark grey is fairly useless. It adds no contrast to the terrain unless its clear.

The Black iridium is a better all round lense. I use that most of the time, the HI yellow for cloudy days and save the dark grey for the blinding bright days and summer use on the glacier.

-.- yes crowbars its not because im cheap... i can afford airbrakes if i wanted them... but i dont need them nor do splices fit me all that well so that's why im getting crowbars

no dude. those are splices. thats why its funny. I dont give two shits if you can buy airbrakes or zeals or whatever, I just think its funny that you dont know what your talking about, and your second reply proved it. not trying to be a dick, im just a gearhead and I saw that as pretty fucking funny. Not in any way trying to be an ass.

He said he was getting crowbars LIKE THAT, as in, the same or a similar colour-way as those splices...was it really that hard to work out? He says splices don't fit him in his reply, he knows what splices are.

What's funny is that his sentence is still correct- he is going to get crowbars in that color way, not that those are crowbars. That's how I understood his comment. Ease up on being an awesome gearhead

i have both and I'm on the east coast and am hardly even able to use my fire i would go with the dark grey they look sick, are cheaper, and you will be able to use them way more
