Okay this may sound weird, but I've noticed that everyone is always talking about the new scratches, skogens etc.. Even though they are awesome skis, skis like salomon's crossmax and the k2 mod-x axis are probably better skis if you are looking to ski the whole mountain. And yes both are twin tipped even though the tails arn't as flared up.

True the are better for all mtn, but twins have the progressive stance that is better for spins and stuff in the park. And today's twins are pretty good at all mtn, so if you ski the park at all I think twins are a better choice.

the crossmax is a better ski all mountain, but for me the scratch FS (which i have)is the best ski for me. I spend almost all my time in the park when I am at my home hill, which is most of the time. And the scratch is an awesome all mountain ski...the best for a twin tip.

well 9.18s are light almost twin tipped, pbly more then mod-x and xmax, but just the stance, u can't ride switch successfully on em, and tha's half the fun

I thought the crossmax was more of a racing ski than all-mountain. the x-scream series is suppose to be salomon's most versatile ski. well maybe the scream 10 pilot.

the 10 is an awesome all mountain ski and the way it is desighned you ride them super short legths.

Dont try powder though.

I hated the Crossmax skis, thought they were arse. The 10 was waaaay too soft, flimsy and felt like it was unstable and about to break. The X-Scream is a totally badass ski, I like the original double 'Y' prolink yellow one, that is a badass board. The Bandit XX is also quite cool, pretty big rear tip on it too. The Axis isn't a twin tip at all, neither is the crossmax. You cannot land switch on them, that's just entering the world of pain. I would say that if you ski more than 35-40% park that you should go for an all mountain twin like the Skogen or Scratch, concept or even the Freezone.
