so im thinking about ordering a set of these next week, ive only heard a few things about them. so i was just wondering anyone who is riding them or knows anyone who is riding them have any feedback at all about these. thanks
 
yes sir, but that doesnt have anything to do with me hitting rails, jumps, or just freeriding. thats just a basic feel
 
Just making sure, because they don't fit everyone. I've heard from almost everyone that they're super soft, but tanner was using them in St. Anton, so they can't be that bad.
 
yea they felt nice i just didnt know how they would be actually riding, i dont mind soft boots that was the point of getting them. it just seems like there hasnt been a lot of feedback about them since they came out.
 
i've ridden pretty much every boot every year targeted towards our riding, and even some other boots, and i always come back to rossi softboots and i just switched over to the rampages for good. the best way i can describe them is that they flex more like a softboot than a traditional hardshell, they're just better because they keep your heel locked into place. best of both worlds, if you're use to race boots that are superstiff, they also come with an insert to make the tongue stiffer. its perfect for me all over the mountain, make sure you get some superfeet inserts because the stock footbeds blow, other than that, be it bc or rails in the city this boot rules it.
 
has anyone skied these boots all mountain? i'm looking at a pair, but am a bit worried about whether the lower cuff will affect all-over skiing. i'm not going to rip lines in alaska with them or anything, but i'd like to be able to carve hard on some steeps with them.
 
check it, these boots are dope, i got them this year as my do everything boot, in the park they kill it, they flex foreward a ton which helps alot on absorbing landings, but at the same time they keep your heel locked so you still have control over your skis, and if you're worried about skiing steeps with them just know, i ski my ANTs with them on powder days and they do fine nice and laterally rigid and they keep your foot so locked you still have control over your skis, even in the steeps and in powder. I got bad shinbang with my salomon promodel boots, but these have cured me of that problem although I do jam my toe nails with them, but that's only on backseat landings and also because i got them two sizes smaller than normal for better performance. I think you'll be very happy with them if they did fit your foot.
 
Alright.

The Dalbello Rampage, and the Dalbello Krypton Cross are essentialy the same boot. The Rampage does have a fur liner, and an inverted front buckle that the cross doesnt have however. In the back of each of these boots is a tab that can be popped in to control the stiffness of the boot. The rampages to not come with this tab in (softest setting), and the crosses come with it in the medium setting. The cross and the rampage have the same exact flex when the tab is in the same location, because they are THE SAME BOOT.

What you get if you step up to the krypton pro is a choice of bootboard, hard or soft (both the rampage and the cross only come with soft). And a choice of tongue (the one the rampages/crosses come with and a slightly stiffer one).

In conclusion, the rampages are shipped as a soft boot. But they can be made fairly damn stiff with equipment you get in the box, and definately stiff enough to flex any twin.
 
I don't believe so, could compare them later today.

I did bend a buckle on the cross, and havent yet on the rampages so im going to say no...but im not completely sure on that.
 
i own a pair of the krypton pros and they're fucking sick. im still to poor to get footbeds but iv gotten pretty much all my other work done on them and they're money.
 
the only hting is with my rampages, the inverted bottom buckle ALWAYS comes undone. like i thikn it might have to do with flexing a lot on landings n stuff that they like loosen nad undo. its not a problem, cuz u dont even need um tight. but it just ALWAYS happens. i think im gonna do something to keep it in. but ive tried riding loose nad tight, but it still happens.

this happen to anyone else?
 
The problem with the buckle is from the way the boot flexes, yes. Its pretty much the only problem with the entire kyrpton line.

The way you can get around it is by having it one notch tighter than where you usualy have it and it will hold. You might have to punch an extra hole to get it that tight if the volume of your foot is small, but its doable, and does fix the problem. Basically it just needs to have tension on it all the time, or it will pop out because of the way the spring mechanism works.
 
ya it happens w/ me i have boot punched and it never comes undone but my other boot does but it never effects the ride.
 
^WORD, the liners pack A TON. I bought mine and my feet could barely even cram into them and now there is plenty of room in them.
 
mine have packed out a bunch in the month or so iv had them. now i have my footbeds and all the normal bootwork done and they're perfffffect
 
so i got my rampages yesterday, and i have yet to ski them, but i was wondering are they suppose to come with the softer tounge? or do they already have it on them. in that manual it says that the second (gray) tounge comes with, but mine didnt have it. so i was just wondering
 
The manual is for the kryton series, not just your boots. The rampages come with the softer of 2 tongues. To change the stiffness look at the page 13 of your little mini manual thing.
 
From what I understand the other difference is that the rampage is shorter, as in it does not come up as high on your shin as the cross.
 
Heh, guess the guy at the shop was wrong. I didnt get to try both on since they only had the cross in my size, but when I asked him the difference he said the rampage was shorter.

hahaha... a truer word never spoken.

i took my footbeds out because i was waiting for the rep to bring me my superfeet. he ended up never showing up that night and i skiied mammoth the next day without a footbed at all. i completely forgot they were not in there and couldn't tell one bit of a difference. pretty sad.

anyways, my rampages are sold and i have the green pros from next year coming in the mail. just had to brag.

ive been riding mine now for a few weeks with inserts and i love them , but that front buckle comes undone so easy
 
uhh... are you kidding me? i've had shinbang with them. not as abd as i've had with other boots, but it's possible with anything.
 
I've had wicked bad shinbang with these fuckin' boots....I like them, prolly the best boot I've ever owned, but they gave me such bad shinbang one day I went in early and had to ski my entire last run with them completely unbuckled, it sucked ass, thought if I fell I'd break an ankle for sure.
 
Yeah, youll get moderate shinbang in most boots. Rampages with booster straps are pretty much the best setup to avoid it available though.
