So these boots seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. I've had good expieriences with dal bello in the past and this specific model fits well+I like the burly hike option and rubber souls. The only turn off is that they're a bit stiff for me, my coaches and boot fitter have offered to cut them down some, and I know there is the option of buying some softer tounges from the rep also. My question is have any of you guys had expierience with either of these options on dalbello boots? Thanks in advance for any input that will help me make this decision.

your coaches?

are you on a freestyle team?

why cut them?

if you have to do any of that its not the right boot.

the Lupo is part of the Krypton core line from dalbello.

the mechanics of all the boots are the same sans the hike feature and the soles.

they make softer models, and they are less$. but still fit and function the same way. save the $ on the look of the boot you can't flex and buy another set of boards, go on a trip.

the series (as in all of the kore boots) come in their softest flex mode out of the box. It is possible only in the highest models Lupo and KR Pro to get softer tounges. The pro comes with both, soft and stiff not sure on the lupo, they also work on a rib system in the spine of the boot to change stiffness. This makes it the boot series with easiest and most adjustable range of flex avaialble.

I have had three pair of pros in the last 3 seasons. They changed the boot last year kore2, and made modifications to the shell that made my life easier as far as mods go, expanded toe box width and height, plus navicular punches in the shell and adjusted the stance and cuff alignments. Plus the real intuition liners ( not the BS filler half intuions you get from other companies, make a huge difference.

tons of options here with this boot line, plus all the mods are easy. but you have to get a model you can flex. and if you have a wider foot? they new panterra boot is pretty sweet.

out of the box, the lupo comes with a "C" tongue. if you need to go with a softer tongue you'll need the "D" flex. the only problem here is that the "D" flex tongue is only offered up to a 275 because it's considered the ladies tongue.

whenever you're taking boot advice, remember that coaches are simply people that have been certified to teach. because of their position they often consider themselves equipment experts and 90% of the time they have no idea what they're talking about. i've seen modifications coaches have done to athletes' equipment and what i saw could have ended careers for these athletes. these weren't bush league coaches either, the worst i've seen have come from world cup mogul athletes.

go with your bootfitter's recomendations. if there's still a problem, have them look after everything. at the end of the day, it's your equipment you're spending your money on. let the expert handle it.
