Dalbello Krypton Rampage's

I've tried on a rampage and it feels good! I think I'm going to buy it, but have anyone here tried them on the mountain? How are they? Please, tell me somehting about them!

hope you're not skiing where its cold if you have the thin fury liners. other than that.. and a lot of fitting, they worked wonders for me.

That one. The toe box is soo thin.. guh. Seriously was on the verge of frost bite 3 times last year until I switched liners.. and I'm not the only one.

Switched liners? You mean the whole innerfoot then? Shit, I have a problem and that's that I'm freezing much on my toes! So it's not very positive for me! Isn't it any solution on that problem?

the solution is to wear really warm socks.

Or make sure the ankle retention strap isn't so tight as to cut off your pedal circulation. OR.. the best solution is to get the heat fit Intuition Liners.

Or you could go with Pro's or possibly that other new boot.. the smoke grey one.. I think it has the intuition liners.

Maybe the new kryptons come with ID liners. Athough that picture is the old non-heat fit liner.

Hmm. But can I buy that boot with other liners then?

I've also heard that it helps to duct-tape the toe box from the inside or something.

whats the difference between the rampage and the il moro other than the ratchet strap and liner. Also how much can you adjust the forward lean, is it as upright a boot as the spk.

You can buy ID liners seperate. And that will be the best decision of your life. I haven't personally ridden them, but everyone says that they are AMAZING and totally worth it. Just ask around.

I just picked up my pair a few weeks ago. The shop sold them to me for $550 so they were a little pricey, but they are amazing.

The ID liners feel great, even though I haven't heat molded them yet. The boots are so adjustable it's amazing, you can do whatever you want to them. You can add special wedges into the back to adjust lean, adjust flex, all this other stuff. There isn't any tongue in the boot either, they wrap around your calf/shin and feel really nice, the ratchet system is pretty cool. I traditionally have some very bad shinbang, so i'm hoping these will help out.

yap i love mine, got a little roomy after i broke them in though, which isnt a great thing...what everyone says about the toes is true, they get cold. im gonna get a thicker insole to help with the fit and wearing really thick socks seems to help decrease excess wiggle room and keep your toes warm

yeah, yeah, I believe you. just thought it was strange, because the standard one looks so much warmer :)

but are the ID liners pricey then?

See if you can find last years Krypton Cross with the ID liner in your size, probably be cheaper than a new Rampage, and it's the same shell and tongue, so same flex and all, but the ID liner is FAR superior to the regular rampage liner, I had the original rampages and the toe box is ridiculously cold, the ID liner is the best thing that ever happened to the Krypton line of boot.

kinda, but I'm sure the cost is cheaper to buy a Krypton that comes with an ID liner rather than buying a boot and liner separately. The Krypton Il Moro, Pro, and Cross all have ID liners.

yea, ID liners are the shit. I've been riding krypton pros with ID's, and it's probably the best and warmest boot I've ever skied.

The ID liners sounds really sick. Should chech what they cost if they really are worth it. But I think the liners with fur feels nice also :P

More thoughts?

By the way, does the shoe change in any way with the ID liners? I think it sounds best to have the original ones that are made to fit the rampages, but I'm sure that's just weird.

But do you get an other feeling of the shoe? Stiffer?

The boot feels the same because the ID Liner was created to be used in a 3 piece boot, that's why most of the 3 pieces come with ID liners, I'm not sure why the Ramapges don't (probably price).

Yeah. Sounds nice. But is the standard liner heat-moldable?

I'm having a problem with cold feet, always the first who gets cold feet, especially toes. So cold shoes is not so good for me. Maybe I should stick with the ID liner, but I hope it isn't too expensive!

If you already have feet that get cold easy don't even think about getting the Krypton without the ID liiner...you will be in for a year of freezing cold feet day after day. My feet are usually fine, but they froze in my Rampages without the ID liner...get the ID for sure.

We're talking about the same liner? The liner that is standard on this years rampage. It's brown fur inside it.

I think it's strange that they're so cold, they feels so warm and nice in the shop :p

But I believe you. Is the ID liner one of the wamest liners you can get? Is it a good way to cure my cold feet? :) Or should I stay away from the whole Krypton-family?

Yep, same one with thr fur...everything is fine except the toes, those are really cold
Yes, get the ID, don't stay away from the Krypton if they fit you, they are great boots, the toebox is just thi, the ID liner is the answer.

I've now tried on the IL MORO in the shop with the standard ID liner in them. It's the silver and not the gold, I don't know the differences. But they were molded for another person, so they really sucked. They was uncomfy as hell, but I'm sure they're better when they are molded to your foot?? But they were like.. a lot stiffer. Not so soft and comfy as the standard liner. And.. I think it's Rampage + Gold I.D. Liner is cheaper than the Il Moro. But I'm really not sure. The guy in the shop have them, and he says they are not so cold. And he don't wanna trick me.

So.. I don't know.

id suck UNLESS they are molded to your foot. they come from the factory unmolded. then they get heated up real nice, and the liner is like clay, you can mold to fit you however you want. They are EXTREMELY warm.

Well, I've got a problem as I have said. I'm getting really cold on my feet. Always the first who's complaining about cold feet.

So you recommend the ID Liner then? If you say they're extremely warm, they have to be my godsend! :P

I need the wamest boots I can get.

Why are you still asking this man...not to be a jerk, but....your question had been answered.
If you get cold feet, you need the ID liner...even if you aren't usually complaining about cold feet (like me) you may still want them because the toebox is cold on the Kryptons. And it's normal for the ID liners to suck and feel uncomfortable when you try them on...once they are molded, they are quite possibly the best liners out there. Get them.

Ok, thanks arem! I actually know it's answered :)

I'm just so stoked on winter. I don't know what to say. I need to hear it several times, by several people and I'm only thinking about new gear for this sick winter! It helps me through this bad season. Autumn, blaah..

I just got the Il Moro's, but haven't had them molded yet. I'm planning on going to my shop within the next few days/week or so. How long can I expect this process to take? I've never molded my liners before.

The actual heating of each liner is about 15 mins I think...but depending on if you're having any other work done (footbeds, punching/grinding the shell) could take longer...don't go in there in a hurry though or your feet will suffer cause of it, plan on spending at least an hour.
