I would always recommend swix. I like the company and there products are great. However, I am not nieve enough to think there are not other companies out there. Like any company that has a limited scope on what they produce, usually the quality is higher. Any wax is better than no wax, and the bottom line is if you use it, it makes sense to invest in it. The dakine wax kit will be fine. Swix goods I just feel are better and easier to use when you spend a lot of time doing skis, I tune a lot of skis so it makes sense to have the best. Dakine will be fine and you will still notice a difference. Also you can always use it as a starter kit and as you feel certain dakine tools are lacking you can upgrade to swix little by little. But if you are happy with dakine there is no reason to do this. That is just my opinion, also it is the wax that you should be concerned with, the tools just make the work easier. I mean it isn't like you have to use dakine wax if you have dakine tools
